So I don't know if anyone else has been monitoring the A-10 tournament, but Charlotte is making a case for itself, and really should be in the field of 65 come dancing time. here's why:

3/12/08   vs. Rhode Island: (1st Round A-10 tournament)
Charlotte was down most of the game, and was playing horribly. a late run gave them hope. and in the final seconds, Leemire Goldwire hit 3 clutch 3 pointers in a row to tie the game. then, Michael Gerrity was fouled with .08 seconds left...hit both clutch free throws, and led the Charlotte 49ers to a 75-73 comeback win over the URI Rams.

3/13/08   @ Massachusetts: (Quarterfinals A-10 tournament)
Charlotte went into the locker room at halftime down by 18 points to number 3 seeded Massachusetts, 36-19. All seemed lost for the Charlotte 49ers. Then, the second half came and a very different team came. Charlotte went on a 22-4 run to start to half, to tie the game at 53. With 5 minutes left, UMASS had built there lead back up to 9 points, 62-53. LaMont Mack fouled out with the game tied at 62. The Rams scored 2 points off of a drive, and a free throw to give them a 65-64 lead over charlotte. Leemire Goldwire then hit two clutch threes as he did the night before to give Charlotte a 69-65 lead...which it would remain. Charlotte outscored UMASS 50-29 in the second half, and it was possibly the best comeback I have ever witnessed in College Basketball. Charlie Coley had a double double with 14 points and an unheard of 17 rebounds.....Leemire Goldwire had 24 points, and LaMont Mack had 23. those three players were responsible for 61 of the 49ers 69 points.

SO...WHAT DO YOU THINK GARY PARRISH??? CONVINCED????

Out of Charlotte's 12 losses, only one has been greater than 10 points. I don't see how people can say teams like UAB, Oregon, UMass and Ohio State should be in, with no mention of Charlotte even on the bubble.

I just wish they had won a couple more of those close games. Then there wouldn't be any doubt.

im rooting for Charlotte tonight, because is Xavier wins tonight i really don't want to see them play Temple who got killed by earlier this season, but then again with Charlotte on fire I don't know if i want Xavier to play them either.  But they got to get past St. Josephs first, who Xavier lost to 10 days ago, so its going to be tough for anyone to win this years A-10 tourney.

As a current senior at UMass, I'd just like to say congrats on the win in the A10 quarterfinals. Whether you guys beat us or we beat ourselves is up for debate, but it was a win for you/loss for us nonetheless. Not sure if Charlotte beating UMass was good for the A10 as a whole because if UMass had won the game, they probably would have been in the dance for good. With Charlotte winning and subsequently losing to Temple, that takes Charlotte out of the running for making the field.
