So here we go again, another losing season, even with the injuries, it's a broken record huh my friends. Anyway let's look at our players for next season. All and all i think we will have a very athletic team. We have a chance to be very good like Purdue this year or we might stay young and play 500 ball. I watched alot of PSU basketball this year and the guys that showed alot of skills were Jeff Brooks, he has played alot the last 4 games and showed he can run the floor and shoot outside the paint and rebound very well, he is a very athletic freshman. David Jackson had a very good first season, he had a huge game vs Minn and really looks like another Claxton. He also showed that he can shoot from outside and play down low like Geary, the ball will be going through him alot next year. Now Taylor Battle had a great year and if u dont know that he will be a great player at PSU then u shouldnt be on this bball board. He will be our Leader and PG for years to come, man he really wanted the ball in his hands at the end of the game. All these freshman make this team very optimistic to watch. With Cornley healthy next year he will be our leader and hopefully keep this team on track. We should be pretty good in the paint, Jones, Brooks, are only freshman and Cornley is just a monster when he is going for a rebound. Our bench should be good just because we will have 3 guards to keep the pase up with Danny, Pringle, and our new guy Babb. I know im really optimistic but isnt it better to be than down on this team because they played pretty hard this year i thought.

I totally forgot about our new transfer Andrew Ott, A big guy that is also gonna help us down low, and u never know he might start just because Jones isnt that physical. We have a lot of pieces next year.

i agree man, i think Babb will take Pringles spot and i think Jones, Ott, and Brooks will battle for that spot, hopefully Ott is a diamond in the rough, i mean he was recruited pretty highly so thats a plus

While your assessment of next years PSU squad is optimisitic (500 ball in Big Ten), one thing needs to change. Defense. I cannot see PSU improving on their 7 conference wins this year without improved defensive play. Which I think is what your Purdue and Wisconsin do well. Team defense. It is a must for team improvement.

Well, I think that Penn State will have a succesful year next year. Ed Dechellis is finally starting to do someting and I think he should possibly get a contract extension. It is a shame that Geary Claxton went down last year against Wisconsin. I think that if we had him for the rest of the year, we could have maybe had about 10 conference wins. We possibly could have made a run in the conference tournament, and gotten into the NIT.
About next season:
Danny Morrissey wll light it up from downtown. Jamelle Cornley will be our primary player and will dominate the glass and score about 20 per game, optimistically. Stanley Pringle has some potential I think. Also Babb amd Ott should be great new additions, Brooks and Jones should also do better.
Lets go State!

What makes you think Brooks is not going to be a starter next year. I think he has shown glimpes of what he is capable of doing when he gets minutes. I think he honestly has a chance to start in front of Jackson next year. I do not think Ott will be eligible until like after christmas next year. He will get conciderable amount of PT when he comes back.

I don't disagree with you one bit Franah. I think Jeff is an outstanding player. The problem is that he is super scrawny. Long and tall is good, but not when you have not much bulk. Maybe if he gained some muscle mass/weight, I could definitely see him a starter.
No, Ott is not eligible until after Christmas, just in time for Big Ten Play!!

There is always hope from one season to the next. I am not sure how good they will be next year bu as long as they don't regress I would think they are only a couple more wins from some NIT births and a steady middle road Big 10 bb team.
