Stepen Curry should enter the 08 draft

I would love to see what this kid could do playing with people like Lebron or Dwade or something.  I mean im pissed cuz he just killed wisconsin but there is no denying this kid has amazing talent. 

What impressed me the most is the way he can create his own shot against one of the better defenders in College basketball.

Also, Stephen Curry will stay in school. If J.J. Redick can't get on the floor in the NBA Stephen Curry won't be able to either.

The difference is Curry is better than Redick.  Curry is quick, Redick really didn't develop any game off the bounce until his senior year and if is nothing compared to Curry.  Also Redick played at Duke with HS all americans.  Curry plays at Davidson and is carrying them to a ride of a lifetime.

I wouldn't say Curry is better than Redick.

Redick practically led the country in scoring playing in the ACC...and not the current ACC! The ACC of a few years ago that was putting 6 and 7 teams in the NCAA tourney.

Don't miss understand me....I think Curry is a very good player and obviously a great shooter. But his size is going to hurt him. And I don't agree that he can create his own shot. He is on a team made up of role players and they know when and how to get him the ball. It will be a whole different story in the NBA. Only time will tell if he can play or not. Just remember....there have been many great college players who never played a minute in the NBA.

IMO, Curry, only a sophomore, stays for another year maybe two because for the next few years he will have another shot at the Final Four. No need to rush to the NBA if he's not gonna be a lottery pick, which, no matter how well he does in the tourney he will never be.

didn't the ACC only put 4 teams in the tourney this year? didn't the ACC avg 5 or more teams the years Redick was at Duke? So...what exaclty makes you laugh about that? The Southern conf. ain't the ACC. IMO, I don't think you can compare the two.

As I said, Curry is a good player but you can't compare what he is doing to what Redick did in the ACC. Curry is having a great tourney without a doubt, but let's wait to see what he does for four years before we say he's better than JJ.

Btw. I hate Duke and I'm not a Redick fan at all so you're getting this from a fan that can look at the players impartially...

Let's see, Redick basically had one great years and 3 good years.  Curry has at least one great year.  I'm not sure what his stats were last year.  Redick had all americans around him.  Curry has Davidson recruits around him.  Curry may have played in the Southern conference but played UNC, Duke, UCLA, NC State, Georgetown, Wisconsin and Gonzaga.  There in one other nonconference team I am forgetting.  Davidson won 3 of these games and was NEVER out of the other games, and even led UCLA by 17 at one point.  So just because he plays in the Southern conference doesn't mean squat.  Pippen didn't play at a major school.  Jerry Rice didn't play at a major school.  But they, like Curry, put up crazy numbers because they were way above the competition.

to badger nation....good points by you regarding Pippen and Rice. I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this subject.

As I said, I think Curry is a very good player, I just don't see him going in the top 15 picks and if he's not going to go that high ...why come out early?

I know you believe the Badgers are overrated, but assuming you watched the game, are there any teams in the country that could have weathered that storm of threes davidson put up? The fact that the badgers were able to be tied at half time after davidson shot 7 from 10 behind the arc in the first half shows just how tough this team was. I will say though I was very dissapointed with the approach we took to the game. That being said, Davidson simply would not miss, 10 of 12 for a 10 minute stretch in the 2nd half. Its not even that we were playing bad defense, they were simply unconcious.

Plus, Stephan Curry scoring 16 points in 6 minutes was sic. My hat is off to him. He put his team on his scrawny back and carried them into the elite 8.

BTW does this mean Georgetown is overrated too since they lost to this davidson team?

Yes....I believe G'town is overrated. With no legit 'go to guy' like they had last year with Green they are/were vulnerable in a close game against a team that plays good team defense and understands their roles.

Davidson did a good job of this against both G'twon and Wisconsin...they understand good team defense and they know how to get Stephen open so he can get open, uncontested shots...That's what Davidson does well. I don't think Stephen is great at creating his own shot but when you have 3 guys setting picks for you it makes it easier to get open and get good looks at the basket...

Wisconsins' strength was supposed to be team defense and a deliberate offensive style of play and they should have dominated a team from the Southern conference with there size and athleticism, IMO.

Yes, Davidson shot the lights out but a team of the supposed caliber of the mighty Badgers should be able to shut that down and force their style of play on the 'weaker' team...once again they come up short against an inferior team at tourney time and I'm not surprised.

Well, what if Davidson comes out next year and doesn't catch fire like this year? Then his stock drops. Scouts are a finicky bunch, and I think if Curry wants to cash out now, then strike when the iron's hot. Otherwise, if Davidson's an early exit next year, he won't even get a sniff.
