We are a very young team at this point besides VC.  We have plenty of time to grow next year.  We can really help this team out in the draft.  The only two things we should be looking at is a BIG MAN and a SHOOTER.

Hibberts stock is falling like sub-prime mortgages right now.  I think he may be available in the teens for us.  If he is too scary for us we can go safe and grab Robin Lopez from Stanford.  Another 7 footer like Hibbert who can do good things around the rim.

The only guy I would like to see resigned is Diop I really like him.  I'm still not sure why he's not getting a little more time but every time he's in there he defends and controls the boards.  Here is the guys I want on the team next year:

Harris
VC
RJ
Boone
Kristic
Marcus
Diop
S Williams

As far as I'm concerned everyone else can go.  I still want to see more of Ager next preseason to see if he can find the Magic he had at Mich St.

I'll cut the list down even more

Harris, Kristic, and RJ.  For me, everyone else can go.

VC: expendable.  Vince can still put up the points, but he can also give up the points.  Defense was once our staple, now its anfter thought.

Boone: I like what Boone has done, but I hate his lack of intensity.  If the kid invested some time in the weightroom and free throw line sessions, he could make himself some big money when he becomes a free agent.

Marcus:  Limited.  Can stay or go.  Won't cry if he was included in a package.

Diop:  Dime a dozen player.  Can stay and play a role.  Like J. Collins, no big deal player.

S.  Williams:  Young player with some value.  Some team clearing cap room may want a young S. Williams type guy in return for a proven commodity.

We are not going to get a top ten pick in the draft if we fall.  Big man and shooter are needs that must be addressed.  Solid PFs are hard to come by.  Who knows if Swift or S. Williams will develop into anything.  We may be able to get Jermaine Oneal but he comes as an injury risk.  Moreover, where the hell is the DDDD-fense.

I am a fan and supporter of Frank, but the team defense has gone down the toilet.  Every team will score over 100 points when the Nets come into town.  THE NETS ARE A JOKE ON THE ROAD.  I play fantasy league Basketball. Whom ever the three top players on the opposing team that the Nets are facing average-points-per-game spike up when the Nets come to town. Bryan Scott worked the team hard at practice to the point they hated him.  But under him, we played defense.  The players seem to like and respect Frank, but that mean nothing without effective execution.  We won with Jason Collins and ( the most over rated Net of all time/ a shooter whom couldn't shot) Kerry Kittles.

Not making the playoff will not hurt me.  Being a Nets fan, we've been there.  I want to see the positive direction that this team is going.  Rod and Kiki need to get to work.  Frank better up his efforts.  That Pacers game was a joke.

I can't agree with you on your evaluations of some of the younger Nets.  Especially Boone and Marcus Williams.  Boone has improved every month with his free throws and really is at about 60% lately.  That number is only going to go up.  It's rare to see a big man like himself be able to cut to the basket as well as he does.  He seems to always have a shot at grabbing the offensive rebounds but the other 4 guys on the floor are already running the other way after a shot goes up.  He just needs some bodies around him and the Nets should get better numbers in that department.
Marcus is a perfect backup point guard.  He's shooting pretty well and I've been impressed with some of his drives in the lane lately.  Again, he can't go anywhere but up.  You have to remember the two Huskie alums are still babies in this league.
There really is no excuse for the defense I can agree with you on that.  The Pacers have some great shooters and they don't waste any time getting down the floor and taking 18 footers and 3's.  It was kind of hard for the Nets to get into a set defense against them.  Indiana lives and dies by this and sometimes Dunleavy is going to hit 5/8 from beyond the arc and there's nothing you can do about it.  Tonight should be no different against the Suns and I have a bad feeling that Shaq is going to smack around Josh Boone.  My campaign for Boone is probably going to go down the crapper tonight but we'll see.

King you did say your a fan right?  You dogged Josh Boone?  The kid is almost averaging a double double in his first year or starting.  He's been very good for us.  His free throws stink but thats starting to improve.

Marcus Williams is a very good PG.  He has the ability to start on a lot of teams.  I feels he's the best passer on the team.   Him and Harris are a great PG duo.

Diop is a very good backup center who plays excellent D.  Him or RJ are probably the best defenders on the team.

Sean Williams is a baby.  Why would you get rid of this kid?  He's made a lot of rookie mistakes this year but he'll grow.  Hopefully he hits the weight room this year develops a post up game including a baby hook and he'll get more burn next year.

The two biggest problems on this team are no knockdown shooter and no post up player.  I'm wondering if we package the 2 number 1's if we can move up to take Brook Lopez out of Stanford?  This kid has so much skill.  Or we can wait and grab Hansbrough and keep both picks.  I'm not sure if Hibbert has the foot speed to be a good pro.  But I'd still take a chance at drafting a 7ft 2 270 pounder who can block shots and pass the ball at 14 if we had to.

Keith Van Horn, Sean Williams, and Shawn Bradley only needed to add some weight.

How many teams have guys that they think only need to work on this or that.  Sean Williams has some talent.  He maybe the next Jermaine Oneal or the next Carlos Rodgers.  To get a proven commodity, I'd be willing to risk Williams and/or Boone.

Marcus is playing OK, nothing special.  Lets not hold onto our cards too long.  If you think Marcus can start for several other teams, I'd like to trade him to those teams for a post up player.

Josh Boone has played well for a young guy, but he can be had.  He maybe OK, but he shows no intensity.  A little anger can carry him further than hitting the weight room.

IF the Nets are planning to trade to fix their needs, teams will want young, cheap, talent.  And we must trade before the jury is out.  I'm sure the Bulls wouldn't have traded Elton Brand for Eddie Curry had they known Curry was a dog. . The Knicks as well.  I say trade the youngster, since they showed a little sparkle, and get something.

We can keep M. Williams, S. WIlliams, and Boone and hope they develop.

King I agree that Marcus could be expendable for a low post guy.  I'd try and talk the Knicks into him and our 2nd 1st rounder for Zach Randolph.  I love Zachs game.  Then we can slide Nenad over to center.

Or I'd be willing to send 1 of the  1st rounders out West to the Clippers for Elton Brand.  I'm not sure they will take it or our cap space will allow us to do it.  What we have to take into consideration is VC is going to start slowing down he's getting older we need to get a 2nd legit scorer.  Not just someone who is good every other or every 3rd game.  They have to be good every game to go along with RJ.

I couldn't agree more with you BIGTIME JERSEY. What is the benefit of making the playoffs? Getting assasinated by Boston and missing the lottery? Please. We have picks stockpiled and the ability to make things happen, both with trades and in the draft. With the wealth of talent in college now, it's worth it to play the lottery. Nothing would make me sicker than to see those idiot Celtics fans enjoying sweeping us directly out of the playoffs (which they would). Let's roll the dice on landing a big time player in the lottery. Imagine Beasley here?!?!?!

A low post presence and shooting is definately needed. Nets should target JR Smith or JJ Reddick. Elton Brand is a long shot. Thorn should roll the dice on J. O'Neal his contract is over 2yrs before Carter's. I would trade Carter, M Williams, Swift and Hassell for O'Neal and M. Daniels. Sign JR Smith, resign Diop and draft a small forward. Starting 5 would be:

pg-Harris

sg- Smith

sf-Jefferson

pf-O'neal

c-Nenad

Not a bad starting 5

I wouldn't touch Oneal with a 10ft pole.  JR Smith is a nice name.  JJ can shoot it a little bit too.

BIGTIME-

YOU WOULDN'T TOUCH JERMAINE ONEAL WITH A 10 FT. POLL BUT YOU WANT TO TRADE FOR Z-BO? THAT'S RICH. TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS SEEN ZACH PLAY A LOT AND KNOWS HIS GAME...YOU DO NOT WANT HIM ON YOUR TEAM, HE MAY PUT UP SOME GOOD NUMBERS BUT THERE IS A REASON HE IS WITH THE Knicks RIGHT NOW.

HAHAHAHAHA, Z-BO IS NOT A DOMINANT POST PLAYER, HE WAS IN THE VERY BEGINNING OF HIS CAREER IN PORTLAND BUT HE IS JUST TOO LAZY NOW.  HE ALSO PLAYS NO DEFENSE WHATSOEVER.
