This is the reason why so many of us dislike Michigan State so much, fans like this cleaves guy. MSU has obviously been one of the most successful programs in the nation over the past 10 years, particularly in the tournament. Cleaves is right though that the media judges teams and coaches by their tourney runs even though it doesn't make a whole heck of a lot of sense. But why would the media make sense?
For Bo Ryan and the Wisconsin program to be given the level of respect by the national media that they already probably deserve, they will have to make a Final Four. And then they'll have to get to a National Final. And then they'll have to win one. And then they'll have to compete for an maybe win another. It's a progression, and I've been on record saying that we're finally starting to see the type of teams that we can expect to see from Bo and the Badgers. The last two years...61-11 record. The tourney wins and national respect will come. Just be patient and don't be one of those fans that complains about getting no respect all of the time. It's gotten old.
To answer your original question, I'd expect to see Wisconsin ranked around 18 to 22 to start the year next year.
