I saw a report that Mike Williams has dropped his weight from 270 to 256 recently. I liked him a lot in & coming out of college. I still have hope that he can be a very good WR, but he is going to have to get his head out of butt and get with the program. He has all the tools to be great. If he can get it together, he will help our passing game. What do all think?

I agree with that, but if he can continue to get his weight down, he can be the player he once was.

I hope Mike Williams comes back strong, but I doubt it.  That year without football after college killed him.

I say give him a shot, but I do believe he was cut from the Raiders because he drops quite a few passes.

Thats good though...you have to consider that he done all this on his own time....and if he is really trying to lose weight  then he should have no problem dropping another 20-30 pounds during the team work-outs and mini camp....

another thing....he is just like Pac in the fact that he knows if he screws up one more time he could be done...

meaning if he doesnt do his job, get to playing weight and he gets cut again...he might not be playing football anymore

just like with Pac, if he gets in trouble again hes done....so they both have about the same mentality going into this season

I agree with you Soonerdominance, that year away from football was an absolute killer. It set him back alot.Hopefully he will get his career turned around.

I've wondered if TE might actually be the thing to do with him.  Desmond Clark for the Bears came into the league as a wide reciever.

True, but we brought in Alge for that reason, to play TE. If Mike can get down to 225 or so, he'll be good to go.

If he can drop another 25 to 30 pounds I think he will be alright.

With Norm Chow gone, I see Mike Williams not even lasting the full season til we just get rid of him.

Mike Williams has so much potential.  If there is some way Fisher and the gang can tap that we will not need to worry about filling the WR position.

Mike Williams was drafted in the first round so he did have super star potential.  So to hear that he has already lost weight is a great sign.  Remember when Lendale lost some weight he had a break out season.

He's done.  Missing another year of college really hurt him.  He could have gained aa lot more skill in one more year at USC.

An update on Mike Williams. He has dropped another 15 to 16 pounds since March. That would make him losing 30 pounds all together and put him at the 240 mark. The report also said that he was meshing with Mike Heimidinger very nicely. This is very encouraging. Hopefully we can get some decent numbers out of him, if he sticks with it.

Maybe hes the steal of  the Free Agency!! lol if we can at least make him a 3rd WR maybe a 2nd for a great price...he stopped the Titans from drafting a WR in the first 3 rounds. So i think the titans have a plan. After that unWideReciever draft any news of a WR is news to me.Keep updating!

i honestly think he is done if he dosent prove himself this year. but if he says that he kept the Titans from drafting a wideout, then hell let him have the number one spot if hes so good
