Best of luck to Turris! I think Phoenix should have given him another year to develop. Sure he is a great player and has been expected to be great (3rd pick in 2007 draft), but he is still small and honestly didn't even put up that great of numbers in the WCAA. He led our team in poiints but was only 3rd team WCHA. 3rd team WCAA doesn't merit an NHL star by any means. We are talking about a great AMERICAN COLLEGE hockey conference. He is no Danny Heatley yet.

On the other hand,  Phoenix does need help NOW and needs to look to the future so it does make sense. Turris was also MVP at junoirs last year leading canada to a championship.

Wish he was back for one more.

TC, I agree he is small and not physically ready for the NHL yet, however he is oNLY 18 years old, to called up at age 18 is a rare, rare occurrence in the NHL, their scouts must see some genious. And let's face it, as an NHL pro he will be able to focus on getting stronger etc.. alot more than he could in college. This is a good move for him as much as it pains me to say it. Also, your point is right on that the Coyotes need help NOW, if a championshhip caliber team owned his rights they would have more patience and probably give him more time to develop but they don't have that kind of time.
