The way the announcers were talking last night it's almost a forgone conclusion that Koufos is one and done. I really hope he sticks around for one more year because this team could be very good with him. Without him, they may be looking at a chance to defend their NIT crown.....

I think Koufos will stay. He has already turned down 2 million to play college ball. His defense is not ready to play pro ball and the guy has got to get stronger hands and take it to the hole big man. If on an outside chance he would go there is another 7 footer BJ Mullens coming.
The part I am worried about is a point guard. What made tha team better at the end of the seaseon was a senior point guard in Butler. Next years team will be younger than this years with No senior leadership.

I would predict that Koufos will be back.. and with Mullens coming in, Koufos could be a foward and Mullens could be a center (two 7 footers on the court at once). The problem will be point gaurd play. Evan Turner did well handling the ball with Butler in the NIT, but doesn't have the same shot as Butler did. Our back pg (his name just slipped my mind) shot the ball like 3 times all season so I have no idea about him, but he hustles after the ball on bothsides, I always give credit to that.
Depending on the gaurd play and Lighty staying next year should be fun (that is if Koufos stays).
GO BUCKS!

I think he stays, but it wouldn't surprise me if he leaves. He was already offered money to play in Greece last year, and after being turned down I could see them upping the ante. Not sure if he'd be a first round pick in the NBA right now, even with his potential, although he could step in and be a Nowitzki type big man.
I hope he stays, we just don't have the big man depth to be able to lose him. Plus him and Mullins next year would be amazing.

It would be wise for Koufos to stay to keep on developing but if he's projected to be a mid to early first rounder he'll probably leave. The man is pretty good. He kind of reminds me of Dirk from the Mavs. If he does leave best of luck in the pros. The Buckeyes need a replacement for Butler. Do they have any top tier point guards coming in next year?

Anthony Crater is 3 star PG who's coming in. Between him and Hill I think they'll have enough, just the scoring will likely have to come from the other 4 spots and the PG will have to have a more traditional role as leader and distributor.

Crater is one of the 10 best PG's in the country. He's an excellent ball handler and a "pass first" PG, which is exactly what next year's team will need. I don't see Hill playing as much as Crater once he gets acclimated.

Crater one of the 10 best PG's? I have never seen that. Rivals doesn't even have him in their top 35 PG's in the class of '08. Let's hope he's better than Hill, he's a backup at best.

Crater is actually the #8 PG on scout... and being that he's from my home state (Michigan)... I've been following him for 3 years. Reading articles, etc. He's one of the 10 best in the country... trust me.

There are 49 other states. I'm sure he's a good player, I just think it's a little hard for any of us to say if someone is a top 10 player or not.

I'm quite sure that you're missing the point. In short, I've read every article/scouting report/writeup on the kid BECAUSE I've been following him BECAUSE he's from Flint. These articles aren't talking about bball in the state of Michigan. They are talking about recruiting prospects OVERALL. The majority says that he's one of the ten best PG in the country... regardless of how many states there are in the United States of America.

Well, hopefully Stars knows more about this kid than Rivals does. Recruiting is often a craps game as we all know.

If Koufos does end up leaving the Buckeyes and their best recruit will suffer Mullins will not be nearly as effective because of the opposing defenses can just gameplan around him and that will slow up our offense if koufos does stay and if we can get some decent guard play we will be a team that no one wants to play come March

I hope he stays but I think he will leave for the money...can you blame him?
Although if he stayed and got better defensively his stock could go up even more in the next year's NBA draft. Right now he is way too inconsistent to play even as a sub in the NBA.
Another year and maybe a lot of work on defense and he could be a nice role player at best. Unless he becomes a beast defensively...HE IS 7ft and needs to be a post guy to suceed in the NBA not a three ball shooter. The NBA three is also a little further too so the sucess he is having hitting them in college might not transfer to the NBA. They have 5-10 to 6-9 swing men that shoot the three in the NBA... big men who can dominate the middle are rare. HMMM wonder what Oden is going to do this next year? Go Bucks!

He actually turned down 5 million in Greece.
But it's 80% sure he'll return. www.nbadraft.net has him as coming back another year as well.
He just had too many flaws this year. As others said, having BJ Mullens next year will let him focus on playing the 4 spot more, which will not make him look as soft. If he can keep his post game developing like it did in the NIT and get that J more consistent, he'll be a lottery pick in a year.

Bigdog2323 ,
You make some solid points...I hope he does stay but not sure... $5 million or more is a lot of money. If he does stay he should/will be able to play away from the post more which definately will raise his NBA stock. I guess he will decide sometime next week.

It is not a question of whether or not he can leve, but he could leave this year and sign a mediocre contract in the NBA, and ride the bench. If he stayed one more year, and played at the power forward, he could be a sleeper all-american and put up like 18-19 points per game where he can face the hoop all he wants and use that great shot. He would be a lottery pick and sing a big time contract to come in and start. Therehave been comparisons to Dirk but I think he compares to Gasol just a little bit more.
