It's probably better that the "experts" don't go for the Orioles. Not many of them really know what they are talking about. I am convinced that the sportscasters don't really pay attention to anything outside of the Northeast.

I guess the 0.80 ERA out of the bullpen, timely hitting, good defense and fundamental baseball is part of Mack's "smoke and mirrors".   The starters high ERA is based off DC's first bad game and Loewen getting knocked around in a short outing (both games that the team still won).   The last 3 games, the starters ERA is 2.70 and if you go back the last 5 games (one trip through the starting rotation), the starter's ERA is 3.56.  I know the O's are going to have a tough year competing, but I refuse to believe they will finish last in the AL East.

i think that is bogus!!!!....in every sport they say...."good teams need to beat the teams they should beat and pull off some upsets in order to be a great/contending team" right?

now im not saying the O's are a contender...not yet atleast.....but the teams they have played they hsould have beat or been upsets....Rays we should have beat, they improved alot from last year and im pretty sure we were underdogs in that series and we split it 1-1....then the M's who also imprved from last yeear and we were probabaly underdogs, and swept them 4-0. now i think any team that sweeps another team 4-0 is doing something right...its not like the O's are getting lucky...

they are winning by the long ball and winning playing small ball...just like when we won in the 9th down by 2....this young team has heart and isnt going to let anyone walk over them..also all the Bullpen pitching you guys talking about kept us in the games we were losing at one point or kept us in the lead....

i hope the team sees these rankings and it gets them boosted up for when we play the Wsox and the yanks starting the 17th...yea its a week away but if they keep up what they are doing they will impress alot of ppl...

including me lol
