I think that if we keep everyone, we really dont need much. The only thing i could think of is a good perimeter defender? Someone who can guard Kobe, Carmelo, Durant etc.. What else?

I do agree somebody that is a good defender would be nice. I think our biggest need is a PG and then a SF. I think we should draft the best available PG in the first round and draft the best defending SF in the second round to help our perimeter defense.

I don't think there will be anyone at the position we are picking who will fill a need and be an improvement over what we have right now (or anytime soon).
We could use a premier point guard, so maybe the better question is, "Who would you give up to get one?" Included in this equation could be one or all of our draft picks. Since we are one of the youngest (if not the youngest) teams, we don't exactly need more young guys to stick in the development league until who knows when. I would say we are definitely set at center (Oden), power forward (Aldridge), and shooting guard (Roy). So that leaves small forward where we have Outlaw and Webster and point guard where we have Blake and Jack.
I guess we could draft a backup center as insurance in case Oden doesn't recover or gets hurt again. Might be slim pickings by the time we pick, though. Seems like only about the top 7 or 8 in any draft are solid prospects.

I have to disagree a little bit here with the notion that we don't have any glaring needs, when infact I believe that is exactly what we have at the PG position. You have to remember that we are in a Conference that is dominated by great point guards as Steve Nash, Tony Parker, Baron Davis, Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Allen Iverson. Steve Blake is a serviceable backup, and Jarret Jack is young and talented, but realistically plays more of a 2 than a pure 1 guard. I think that the Trail Blazers need to make a move in the draft to get a PG. ideally Rose (not going to happen) but I believe much more likely that we move up a few spots and grab Gordon somewhere between picks 7-10. To get there they will have to give up thier pick aprox #13, and a player like Jack, or possibly Webster, but i don't like giving up a SF when that is our 2nd largest need on the team. Webster and Travis Outlaw are also great 6th man type players, but neither have proven they belong in the starting line up. I like both of those players, but I think that Outlaw needs to learn to share the ball a little more, and stop trying to do everything himself, and Webster just hasn't been the player we thought when we drafted him. Those are my positions of need for the Blazers and if we want to not just be a playoff team next year we will need a star PG to lead us

If the Blazers want to address perimeter defense and PG in the draft their target should be Russell Westbrook. He won't be there at 13, but they have the pieces to move up a few spots.
With the news that Miles will be off the books next year the Blazers have even more options. Maybe they will go after a veteran point guard in free agency and address small forward and backup power forward in the draft.

We have four picks in the first two rounds (3 seconds) thanks to Pritchard's adroit management.
With the impending departure of Darius Miles (Finally!) the impending emergence of Rudy Fernandez for even more outside shooting and fast break highlights, we are in a great postion to make a play for a Gerald Wallace type defender who can add some offense but can shut people down.
Others have suggested making a play for a Baron Davis type leader - great. We have the peices now. Although two mock drafts already showing that Kevin Love will be available when we pick in round one, we have some tradable players and prospects as well.
We drafted the Finnish sensation in 19 year old Petr Koonen (sp?) - what is the scoop with his development? Is he the pg of the future? If so making a play for Davis or Andre Miller makes sense.
I would love to see Kevin Love added to the talented Blazers next year. Accoding to the names declaring for the draft today - he will slide because of Athleticism and "upside" - whatever - this guy brings the game every night.
Well, that is all from Mexico - Arriba los Blazer!

Personally I don't like the idea of bringing in Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, or if possible OJ Mayo, a shoot first PG won't work with this team with so much chemistry. You also have to consider ROY might move from sg to pg eventually like he loves to do in the 4th quarter. If that's the case I still don't like draft Gordon and Mayo who I think will slip in the draft. Chase Buddinger could be around by 13, I like that guy, I really like the 2 UCLA guards, Westbrook and Collison. I HATE kevin love and would despise him as long as he was a blazer if we make that mistake. I love the idea of a guy sharing the rock like he does but for some reason I hate the guy, maybe because I'm a duck.... Brandon Rush would be nice, he's a gamer for sure and would be around, Ty Lawson could be nice. I think the biggest issue for bringing in a new guard would be how he works with Roy. I like the idea of Fernandez but can't count on him to be a future playmaker if he isn't for sure ever going to play in the NBA.
I'm no NCAA hoops expert but if there's a shutdown defender in the draft, poor man's Ron Artest or a Shane Battier type player, I think that's the perfect fit for our team at the 3. T-Law doesn't shoot too much, he's the playmaker for the second team, I'm fine if he never starts here because as a true gamer from the bench he keeps up the Heat when Roy is taking a break.
We don't need to add any ppg with this pick, assuming in the perfect world everyone sticks around as I see it, we have an All Star SG, and a solid back up in Jack, we have a solid back up PG in Blake, solid bench wingmen in Jones and T-Law, WAAAY solid front court starting and backup in LA, Oden, Pryz and Frye. With this endless post I conclude we use the pick and the rights of everybody I didn't mention to fill in a PG who runs the system and defends and a SF who runs the break (Douglas Roberts???) and defends. IMO Webster is about to have his breakout year.
Way too long of a post, I'm retarded

Theres only ONE position and only 2 players that we need to address. Chris Paul and Derrick Rose. Go hard after Paul, give him the contract, we are saving so much with cutting Miles and we are trading LaFrentz this offseason. There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to get one or the other. We have the Money, the talent to trade, and Portland is looking like a hot commodity. With how good we did this year and how competitive we are going to be next year and for the next 10, anybody would love to come and win some NBA Championships. Also look for Gilbert Areanas to talk to the Blazers, he's a Free Agent and watching him play point this past week and into the playoffs, has been quit impressive, a sharp shooter that is looking to pass now, he's quick with size.
Rudy Fernandaz will be with us next season but don't look for him to run the point, he's 6'6'' and is a SG or SF in the NBA. Look for him to come in like Manu Gionobli did, 6th man.
