All they have is celebs who pay top money for seats so that they can be seen paying top money for seats. The Lakers are good because they have a good player and a good coach. The Warriors and the Jazz and teams similar to them have real fans. They have fans that are passionate about the game and love their team. They don't have rich celebrities overpaying for tickets just to be seen. Teams like the Knickerbockers and Lakers have rich people that will pay anything just to have tickets to be seen. Don't give them the time of day. Real fans don't do that.

At between 100 - 200 a ticket for a decent seat in the arena, one could easily argue that there is no such thing as a "real" fan anymore. The working class guy is watching his favorite NBA team on the couch at night with his six pack. That is the real fan my friend.  LA is no different than any other place..Maybe a few more celebs that get their plastic surgeon's free TV advertising.

You must be from Mayberry? You are 100% correct. There are 18,997 movie stars at the Stapels Center for every Lakers home game. If I had more time, I bet I could name every one of them. It's truley a miracle that movies and TV shows are even made with all of those games. Maybe all of those actors and producers can work out a new contract before the first Lakers playoff game, so we don't have another work stopage in the Entertainment Industry come June.

I completely agree, dglenk. It's nothing but, "look at me, I'm Jack Nicholson!"

Or, "look at me! I'm on my cell phone on nat'l tv! I don't have a clue what's going on in the game, but I landed that big account by treating my clients to courtside seats!"

Lakers fans..........there's a contradiction of terms.

You make a fair point with the rich people argument, but how do the Knicks come into this discussion?  Sure, there are rich people in NYC but the Knicks aren't even on this list.  All you had to say was that there are celebrities in both places that want to be seen at games, and as a result some of the fans in the first ten rows are unloyal.  You cannot make the assumption that all fans in these two cities have no love for their teams nor can you say that there are no celebrities acting in similar manners in other places.
