Alright ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls we are just outside of 12 hours until the start of the draft.  The draft is one of the more boring "sporting events" each year.  But, this year should be the most exciting draft that I can ever recall the Chiefs having.  As they sit right now they have 13 picks.  The Chiefs could easily end up with more than those 13 picks should they trade out of their #5 pick.

As we all know, there are many many needs this team has right now.  I believe that if Carl Peterson keeps his hands off and let's Herm and the scouts run the show the Chiefs should be much improved and much younger team than they were last season.  That being said, I am not anticipating a winning season,  none of us should be, but if the draft goes well the Chiefs should be ready to compete again in 2009.

Look for the Kansas City Chiefs to draft QB Matt Ryan out of Boston College with the #5 pick in this years draft

Carl Peterson and Herm Edwards both told Bill K that the best way to get more attention in the draft is by going after Matt Ryan

Carl Peterson said his hopes is for Matt Ryan to be there at the #5 pick so they can pick him up

Last year the Kansas City Chiefs was really close on getting Brady Quinn we was like 1 second away from getting him last year

Also look for the Chiefs to Draft Matt Ryan and have him compete with Brodie Croyle

Drafting Matt Ryan will make more since to the Chiefs in this years draft then Draft some OL or DL player that is injuried prone

Glenn Dorsey..Falcons or Raiders
Vernon Gholstan-Falcons or Raiders
Darren McFadden is going to go to the Jets

Chiefs best pick is QB Matt Ryan

Bump it up my fellow Chiefs fans.

I will be looking forward to general banter and discussion with my fellow Chiefs fans tomorrow.  Keep our collective fingers crossed Carl does not screw this up.

Goo Goo, go away.  They will not select Matt Ryan.

How about a bet between the two of us GOO??????

If the Chiefs     DO NOT  select Matt Ryan you stop posting on the Chiefs board.  What do you say?

GOOEY, read the thread title and the first post.

NONE of that applies to you.

This isn't the "who does GOO GOO MONKEY want the Chiefs to draft" thread.

By now we're all painfully aware of your man-crush on Matt Ryan. Move on.

Besides, just a few days ago you yourself said Matt Ryan wasn't a top 5 prospect. Now all of a sudden he's the Chiefs saviour and only hope to ever win a game again?

Good grief man. I remember the exact same babbling about Brady Quinn last year. We have a QB already. We don't yet need another. Get over yourself already.

I am anticipating this draft more and more by each passing minute.

ESPN is "reporting" that the Chiefs will not select Matt Ryan and unless there is a marquee player that falls to them at #5 they will be looking to trade down.  They went on to say that if this is the case they will likely end up with 15 total picks this weekend.

Man, this draft has been perfect for me so far. All I care about is that Kansas City does decent, and right now, we are a little better than decent. Hopefully, this draft success can carry out onto the field and we can get back into the playoffs.

nzimmigrant...The Chiefs would be in good shape in 2009 if the draft Matt Ryan this year...

All the mock drafts all around the internet and what they are saying on espn and espnnews say the Chiefs are going to go after Matt Ryan out of Boston College

Just look for that 2 happen

If you think the Chiefs are going to skip over Matt Ryan then you can talk about a 0-16 season and end up losing more players before the 2009 draft dew to free agency and then the Chiefs would need to find out more

If the Chiefs dont draft Matt Ryan and Carl Peterson ends up trading either Larry Johnson or Tony G off to another team for more draft picks

Look for Carl Peterson and Herm Edwards to get the boot out of Kansas City

Clark Hunt is going to wake up and realize what Carl Peterson and Herm Edwards is doing to this team and both of them will find there way out of Kansas City Doors

I'd say they go D-line at 5 and OT at 17. But how about this? With all of the picks they have, would Brohm in the second be a bad pick? I would consider it.

I have seen one mock draft that had them taking Brian Brohm.  I don't think the Chiefs should draft a QB in this draft at all.  If they were to draft a QB, I would like to see them take a real flyer on a player like Dennis Dixon in round 5-6.

Or Woodsen, which would be in the third or fourth.  I suppose it just depends on how much the coaches believe in Brodie.  If given what they've seen and there's a doubt than they should grab one (but not in the first).  I don't think anyone really knows what Brodie is capable of doing.
