Trevor Laws, DT (Notre Dame) will add quality depth along the defensive line. I thought LB was the way to go here with Quentin Groves (Auburn) still on the board and would fill a more immediate need at OLB. Getting DeSean Jackson, WR (California) #49 was a great move. Donovan has a deep threat with this speedster. But he will a weapon & pay huge dividends returning kicks from the very beginning. They could have went from so-so day to very good day with Groves instead of Laws.

Bryan Smith? WTF? Sometimes it pissed me off how they draft, a no namer. People say he's a diamond in the rough, I feel he'll be cut in training camp, what a waste.

yo hoop, why linebacker?? i agree that groves is a solid player but the eagles have plenty of depth and youth at linebacker...... Laws is a 110% everydown contributor and will be able to come in right away and give mike patterson and broderick bunkley some well-needed rest. (they both played WAY TOO MUCH last year and were worn down at the end of the season and the end of games) i agree with you on jackson, although he is undersized, he will make an immediated impact on the return game and fits the west coast offense nicely with his ability to run after the catch. imagine him and westbrook opposite each other in the slots.... which one does the LB have to cover?? i feel bad for that d-coordinator. but i believe your missing the best part to all this... carolina gave philly their 1ST ROUND PICK NEXT YEAR!!! it could easily be a top 10 pick and give the eagles the flexibility to use both 1sts to get into the top 5 and get a franchise OL or WR next year. i think that there was no way the eagles could turn down a 2nd, 4th, and 2009 1st for the 19th pick. i say great job by andy reid and tom heckert.
