Hear me out. I am a diehard Colts fan. I am a diehard Harrison fan. I have read a lot of supportive posts, on this and other message boards. I have read a lot of posts calling out Marv. Obviously a lot of Colts fans are saying to hold tight and wait for the "truth" to come out. But haven't we been quick to call some one or some teams out in the past for their behavior? I think we have and here is a time where one our most well liked players runs into trouble...huge trouble. Im no legal expert nor do I care to be, but if it turns out that Marvin is involved in any way, I hope that Bill Polian look beyond what Indy would want and see that Marvin has no place in this organization. I know that this is probably not a popular view with a lot of my fellow Colts fans, but I cannot see rooting for someone who feels the need to own 25 guns and be stupid enough to put themselves in this position where they can be questioned in a shooting. I hope that Marv is proven innocent, but I cant look past the fact that he would be put in this situation...
I was in a bar after work today and the bar tender put it best...once you sign that first multi-million dollar contract, isnt it time to get out of the ghetto?
I welcome any comments...

Collecting guns is no different than collecting cars, its a hobby. As far as I know Marvin hasn't shot anybody and especially not now since its been reported that the "supposed victim" said Marvin was NOT the shooter.
Can I say that he had ZERO involvement in this? Nope, but if he does have ties to the matter at hand I'm sure Goodell and Polian will distribute their disciplinary actions accordingly. Its only fair as I love Marv as much as the next Colts fan but he should be disciplined just like anyone else.
I was in a bar after work today and the bar tender put it best...once you sign that first multi-million dollar contract, isnt it time to get out of the ghetto?Having grown up in Indy and in one of the rougher parts I still see at as home. Regardless of how much I made that doesn't mean I completely forget where I came from. I know A LOT of people around the area and if I wanted to start a business I would do it there because I know I would get good business. Now what happens is there is ALWAYS, no matter where your at (ghetto or not), going to be some knucklehead who has to come in and be an idiot. My place of business would be treated no differently than my home in that I would protect it and defend it if something got out of hand.
As far as following the guy outside, as Marvin supposedly did, is something I wouldn't have done and thats where the cops should have immediately been called. I know it was stated the guy was going to his car for something and who knows he might have went after a gun to come back and shoot up the place. There are too many questions and variables that have yet to be answered and solved, so as of now Marvin is innocent until proven guilty.

IF Marvin is found to have done something criminal, then he should have to pay the penalty like anybody else. We only know what the media has put out, and they always act like they know more than they actually do. Somehow, I just can't see Marvin doing something stupid, so I have to believe there's more to the story. There are guys that the story, on the surface at least, would be totally in character for. Then there are others, like Marvin, who don't fit the profile at all. I didn't even get on Michael Vick's back until he had his day in court, and I'm holding off on the latest Pacman Jones developments until I know more. So, no, I don't consider myself a hypocrit. Besides, Goodell and the Colts will get to the very bottom of anything that went on. So I'm going to wait and see.

Harrison's agent, Tom Condon, told ESPN's Chris Mortensen: "I've spoken with Marvin and I've spoken with his attorney, and they say the reports are erroneous. Marvin was not involved in any shooting, and he is not the subject of this investigation."
Condon declined to answer any other questions
This is from an article on ESPN and it is Marvin Harrison and his agent talking. I personally believe them. However If he is found to be at fault I'm sure Tony Dungy & Bill Polian will act accordingly and they should.

I'm glad to hear that Marvin collects guns. It makes it easier for me to believe that he really did believe that particular gun was at home. If he only had 1 I wouldn't believe that he could lose track of it so easily but with 27 I'm sure if someone else had taken and used it he might not miss it. Not that I have any clue who would...
I do know that Marvin won't take crap from anybody. Dungy may be the Quiet Coach but Marvin is a Silent Warrior.

I think one of the biggest problems in this country today is when a celebrity or athlete are involed in after type of altercation.
they are automaticlly guilty until proven innocent.
I taking the way & see all facts before I rush to judgement about Marvin

FYI... Read an article a bit ago with a little more details. Think it was in the Boston Herald. Anyway, they said they interviewed Marvin at a car wash he owns. He said he did own a gun of the same caliber, but he kept it at home.
The only problem is, a gun of the same make was found hidden in a bucket of water on the premises and that it had residue that it had been fired. Whether it was Marvin's or not is unknown. But likely, it would've come from someone he knows....
Anyway, as many have stated, we don't know all the facts yet. So it's a wait and see. But it doesn't look good from what's being said so far.

Found the article: Here you go....
PHILADELPHIA - Indianapolis Colts star receiver Marvin Harrison was interviewed by police about a North Philadelphia shooting this week.
Lt. Frank Vanore said the investigation of the shooting outside a bar Tuesday was continuing. Harrison has not been arrested or charged.
"He was interviewed," Vanore said today. "Why he was interviewed, that is all part of the investigation. No one is a suspect."
Radio station WIP, citing unidentified sources, reported the alleged shooting victim argued with Harrison at Playmakers bar. The victim left and headed to his car, Harrison followed and gunfire broke out, the station reported. The alleged victim was shot in the hand and did not identify the shooter, according to the radio station.
After the first day of their rookie minicamp, Colts coach Tony Dungy said he knew little more than had been reported.
"My phone has been ringing, too, but I don’t have any details," Dungy said. "I really don’t have any more information than you do."
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league is aware of the report and is "looking into it." Harrison’s agent, Tom Condon, did not immediately return a call.
A source told WIP that ballistic tests showed the shots were fired from a custom-made Belgian weapon, and police determined Harrison owns that kind of gun.
Police went to a Philadelphia car wash owned by Harrison and questioned him about the gun, the station said. Harrison acknowledged owning such a weapon, but told officials it never left his suburban Philadelphia home, the radio station reported.
The source told the station a gun was discovered in a bucket at the car wash, and tests showed it had fired bullets that matched those at the scene.

KTH would Harrison be dumb enough to keep a gun used in a shooting and dispose of it on the premises of a car wash he owned? He might be but I highly doubt it.
As you said, lets wait and see. I wait until facts come out until placing judgement. This is still new and I am sure there will be a lot more information that will come out. You know the saying never assume because then you make an @ss out of u and me. Some people on these boards need to take that advice.

Totlbstrd,
I didn't judge if Marvin was dumb enough to keep a gun on the premises. I posted a news story that said such.
But I agree. Wait until it all comes out.

NFLFan1980,
And yes, I agree about calling out fans of other teams prematurely. But fans of every team do it. So nothing new. People live to throw mud. Look at all the BS that was said about Kevin Faulk not too long ago. Many people started saying he failed drug tests, etc. There was a marijuania joint in a jacket he borrowed. He passed his drug tests immediately after. But that didn't stop the attacks. It's too bad, but until the whole story comes in, if Marvin wasn't involved, you guys will still endure the heat. Even if he is exonerated, fans of other teams will continue to bash you saying "he is rich and bought his way out of it", or something of the sorts.
It's a great world we live in....

I hope this just turns out to be like an episode of law and order. In law and order, it would all be a set up, because marvin wouldnt be stupid enought o take a gun that he fired and hide it in a bucket at a car wash. I believe i read another Colts fan saying they believe it's a set up. I'm not so sure about that but it is something to hope for and hold on to until the actual facts come out. Is Marvin Harrison really stupid enough to hide his gun in a BUCKET at a car wash? I sure hope not.
