Most of what you are saying makes sense.  What I saw when I was able to watch the series is that the Avs were giving up far too many odd man rushes.  Especially shortly after giving up a goal.  I may not know a ton about hockey, but I do know that if you are giving up a lot of 2 on 1 or 3 on 2 breakaways, that you are going to be giving up some goals.  I watched most of the games at Buffalo Wild Wings and I lost track of how many times someone said they thought that the new goal scored by the Wings was a replay.

Hopefully the Avs can make some changes during the offseason to improve our chances of winning the Cup next year.

I really agree with the work ethic statement. It seemed that only Mcleod Guite and Lappy were the only ones with any energy for the backcheck out there. I mean how many 2-on-1's where there?

All those 2 on 1 were caused by a defensemen trying to pinch and keep the puck in the offensive zone. but the forwards have to get back and clear rebounds or pick up trailers. Dirtroit didn't help us out and miss the net or anything either.
