" Pens beat up on the Flyers all season
now it's time
to beat them again"
actually, tossing out the last game that neither team seemed that interested in winning, it was a tale of two seasons this year. first 4 games, they beat us, next three we won, then the game at the end which IMO had it not be for that flukey faceoff play that was finished nicely, that game would have been an old fashioned 0-0 tie. I don't see this as an easy series either way, although I'm sure the Pens will win it. my fear is it goes 7 and both teams get too beat up to do anything in the cup finals...

I think this series will be more difficult physically then anything else. I believe their defense is worse than the NYR as well as their goaltender. Grant it, Biron is hot right now, but Montreal was playing from behind all series and had to take chances more often. That, in addition to a weak goaltender in Price made Philthy look alot better than they are. It is our job to bring them back down to earth. I believe that the NYR series will be harder than the Philthy series. NYR had the #1 defense in the East and we smoked it. I think the Cryers are in a world of trouble now and their "magical" playoff run will shortly come to an end.

Toad,
You just keep thinking this will be an easy series. Washington and most of the hockey pundits thought the Flyers would be done in 5 or 6. The overwhelming majority certainly didn't give them much chance against the #1 seed Habs. But hey, if you want think that way, be my guest. In regards to your comment about who was a tougher opponent, the Flyers and Pens play each other 8 times a year and have a rivalry going, so that automatically will mean a closer series than on the surface. The flyers by far, have beaten tougher opponents- Washington(hottest team entering the playoffs with the probable MVP) and Montreal(#1 seed with best offense and PP unit during the season). The Pens played a bunch of pushovers from Ottawa that were already playing their way out of the playoffs. And the Rangers had a virtually non-existent offense and dismal PP. Should be a close and great series to watch, none the less.

The Montreal team that just lost to the Flyers is NOT the same team they were during the year.
Price may have bent and broken under the pressure. Biron played over his head and the Flyers took advantage of good chances.
The Flyers-Pens series will be much different, and the Pens will shoot much more then Montreal did.
Crosby is also due to find his game and put some in the net.
Pens in 6 games.
I dont like Philly..dont like the fans etc.
They will complain about diving and bad calls etc.
But the Penguins will play solid and win this series.

Pens fans giving the Flyers no respect. That is exactly what The Caps and Habs fans thought, and look how those series ended. But in reality, I don't think either these team will beat the teams out west.

The fans played the series and won the games too, huh? The fans trash-talking have nothing to do with the team on the ice.

The Rangers team that lost to the Pens is NOT the same team they were during the year.
The Canadiens averaged 35.4 shots a game. I don't think Pittsburgh's gonna do much more.
Lupul is due to find his game and put some in the net.
Flyers in 6 games.
I don't like Pittsburgh...don't like the fans etc.
They will whine about other teams complaining about bad calls and say Crosby never dives etc.
But the Flyers will play solidly and win this series.

"The Rangers team that lost to the Pens is NOT the same team they were during the year."
Your right. Lunquist was better, but the team as a whole was worse. The Canadiens were not even close to the same team as in the regular season either. The Capitals were back down to earth as well and still took you to 7. Think of that.
"The Canadiens averaged 35.4 shots a game. I don't think Pittsburgh's gonna do much more."
I agree with this too, but the shots will be of better quality.
"Lupul is due to find his game and put some in the net."
He might.
"Flyers in 6 games."
Completely disagree...Pens in 6
I don't like Philly...don't like the fans etc.

Can they win the series without taking runs at our Stars or cheapshots? I doubt it. I don't see that happening. So when it is all said and done, we will see...May the best team win!

i actually thought montreal would have been the easier series but i hate philly and rooted for them so we could have the pleasure of putting them out ourselves. should be interesting but i dont think they can hang with the PENS over the long haul!
