PETA is absolutely clueless on this as they are on virtually every issue. They are a borderline terrorist organization with their attempts to raise awareness. I support whole-heartedly the response of the people closely associated with Eight Belles and their explanation of what happened. The investment made by these people in training and racing their horses makes it absultely ludicrous to think they would deliberately harm an animal. If you want to find abuse of animals it is easy enough to do so when you look at how some people treat their pets. To through the horse racing community in with them is preposterous. I wish to point out that I am not affiliated with the horse racing community and have attended all of one horse race in my life. I have no vested interest in this unlike the hypocrits with PETA.
