Laker fans,
I have held down the San Antonio homer fort all season....pretty much all by myself...
I have rode shotgun in a season long hate-fest with the Suns & Lakers.
My confidence is not shatttered yet, but the Hornets are scarier than I even thought when I pronounced them the "most talented team in the NBA" on your laker boards last week.
You guys have been cool to me all season.
My team needs some of that magical Laker playoff Karma.
I still think the Spurs will make a series of it once they get back to Texas...
Give us Spurs something to hang our hats on Laker nation.
Or is it over and time for me to get on the Laker bandwagon?

Never give up on them. I still think they can win the next two at home and steal one on the road. They are just way too talented and experienced to loose to NO. I still would love to see a Laker/Spurs West Finals. Ginobli needs to play better. Those turnovers are just killing them.

We will loan you Derek Fisher for that .4 game winning shot if you need it.
Seriously,
I've always respected the Spurs, and took up for them during the season when people doubted the champs. However, this series is not looking good. Chris Paul is getting what he wants and he is getting others involved. Ginobili and Duncan need to take it to another level, which they can. Experience is on your side. The gameplan is let Paul be a scorer vs an assist machine. That might work

I blame that Hugo the Hornet clown and that f**cking ridiculous ring-of-fire mishap for all the Spurs misfortune so far. Your NBA champions deserved better than to have been a party to that asinine travesty passing itself off as arena entertainment last Saturday. I'm sure the smell of charred foam and burnt teal neoprene was still wafting around last night - the horror!
Seriously though, Bee's right - somebody needs to step up and inhibit Chris Paul's unimpeded penetration-at-will and keep him from being the set-up machine that he has been so far. Parker is getting torched! I'm sure we will all see a much different Spurs team back at the enormo-dome in San Antonio - until the Hornets can take a game from the Spurs on the road, they haven't proved anything to me yet. I must say though, I was very impressed with the Hornets team defense last night - I saw very few easy looks for the Spurs, it seemed that nothing came easy on the offensive end of the floor for SA - a lot of passing the ball around, always resulting in a forced shot with the clock winding down, especially in the 2nd half.
Anyway, I think the Spurs will rebound nicely and take the next two. It's game 5 that Pop and the rest of the Spurs are going to have to figure out.

Good ideas all...
I think the Spurs should just not play the 3rd quarter. They make shots, rebound, and play defense in quarters 1,2, & 4 so far...
They actually led at halftime in both games only to see the Hornets win each 3rd quarter by a blowout.
Either the Hornets only play defense in the 3rd....or... the Spurs cannot hit any wide open shots in the 3rd quarter...
(of course the hornets shooting 72% from 3-point land until late in the 4th 58% overall did not help)

The Hornets are younger/quicker/stronger at just about every position than the Spurs. They are using these aspects to their advantage. Therefore, the Spurs need to find a way to combat these aspects. Therefore, the Spurs need to pick up their team defense, rebounding, and toughness. They can't rely on what everyone says "experience will beat inexperience". I think playing the Suns lulled the Spurs to sleep. The two teams were pretty much even as far age/quickness/toughness goes. That's why that series was so close. This series, it's the complete opposite.
Plus, Byron Scott would not elaborate on his defensive scheme when a reporter asked him what he was doing to the Spurs' big 3. It seems like he's found a kink in that Spurs chain and is trying to break them.

maybe the Spurs should start their subs in the second half, they seem to have done really well cutting that 17 point deficit to a eleven point game, then the starters came in and blew it....
but if the Subs could keep it close against their starters, then maybe Duncan and parker can come in and eat up their subs when their starters need a break.....
what im saying is that you know how they say..."if it not broke, dont fix it"?...well it seems like your starters are broke starting the second half so you need to fix it, (try something new POP)

jefe, ease up on Hugo man, it's his first season, honest rookie mistake!
Horns, the Hornets did what they were supposed to, take care of homecourt, both games were close going into the third, they also fed off the energy of the crowd, I agree with what was advised earlier, make Paul a scorer, yeah I know easier said then done and absolutely agree that Manu has to step it up.
Now you guys need to take care of your homecourt, there has to be a sense of urgency also, one loss at home could spell doom for the Spurs.

Well I'm actually still pulling for the Spurs in this series simply due to my respect for them and the fact I really don't want to play the Hornets now. The Hornets seem to be world beaters right now and I think they would give the Lakers all they could handle in the WCF!!!!! I think we could dispatch the Spurs in 5 or 6. The Hornets if they keep playing like this you may be looking at 7 games and the earliest it could be over is maybe 6.

Horns you seem to be a knowledgable guy. You also love your team. I respect that. I would be worried and anxious for game three if i were you. POP led team I dont think has ever came back from 0-2. But if they were going to this is a team they could do it against.
Best way to win. Hope Chris Paul falls out of the shower and severely sprains his ankle.
I don't think that will happen. Therfore I think you need to double him HARD get the ball out of his hands. Peja won't shoot as well as he did in NO. But still try not to double off him.
I this TP needs to be more aggressive. Its not over but Spurs NEED next 2.
Good luck Horns

Now that's what I'm talking about. Now Spurs will take care of Game 4 and steal one on the road. Do not underestimate the defending Champs.

Coach Popovich must have came on this board.
All the Laker contributions, he used in his coaching adjustments in game 3.
OCNate you were on point with your analysis.
The Spurs needed to take up the aggressive play of TP & Manu. They just went after the Hornets.
They must have listened to the Laker fans.
