I live in Indiana, but I am not an IU.  There is so much coverage on this team where I live and believe me when I tell you people are not very optimistic about this team and I agree with them.  On the outside looking in, I think this team is in trouble.  The near future doesn't look good, however I do think Crean can do good things a couple of years down the road.  Hang on IU fans, it's going to get rough.

Anyone who thinks IU will be a powerhouse like it was before in the days of Knight is stupid. It will take several years, 4 years at least, for Crean to have IU back to respectability and even than, IU basketball will never ever come close to be like it was during Knight's era. I am an IU grad and was in IU from 81-87, what its going on there now in not even close to when I was there. Hang in there my fellow Hoosiers, IU will not be the same as before but I'm sure it will be back to respectability in 4 yrs time.

Respectability can happen in one season.... and it's already in the making. Being competitive on a national level will not. This will take several years of hard coaching and recruiting.

Being IU fans and/or Alumni we all know that IU has the "fishbowl" on them and that is something that comes with the territory and 5 banners.

GO HOOSIERS!

I think this team is in troubleTrouble already happened and left town.  Now it's on with rebuilding by one quality kid at a time.

I haven't heard anyone say that IU is going to be immediately competitive.  The Sampson ordeal screwed IU for a couple of years at least, but Coach Crean is already starting to turn things around.  I'm incredibly optimistic about this team's upside three or four years down the line, but it's completely unfair to Coach Crean to expect championship-caliber performance right out of the gate.
