Today the Avalanche parted ways with Joe Quennville! This makes me excited because i felt that Coach Q was underachieving his entire tenior in Colorado.

Tell me what you think of the firing of Coach Q.

I would have to agree. He did have a 131-92-23 record with the Avs for three seasons, but his 2-2 record in playoff series hurted us a lot. He didn't make good decisions regarding who to play and who not to. Personally I think he should have replaced Theodore with Budaj after the second loss in the Detroit sereis. It worked for the Wings when they replaced Hasek with Osgood.

I'm not exactly rejoicing over his leaving, but I'm not crying either...

Well well well!  Let us refer back to my posting about two weeks ago ( QUENNEVILLE IS A LET DOWN)!  I do remember that i said what bad a decision he was making with putting theo in and i said if he continued to do so I WAS DONE.  It just so happens that the Avalanche are too!  Hmmmm.........i might have just called that one!  And to all of you who said i didn't know what i was talking about.......IN YOUR FACE!!!  I AM an avalanche fan and i know bad when i see it.

He wasn't fired.  Avalanche decided not to renew his contract after it expires in June 30th.   I feel that they wasn't really on the same page.  Now I'm hoping that Francis Giguere (Avalanche's GM) can find them a coach that has good passion.  Especially someone can help team who can really beat pesky Red Wings!  Avalanche got their hands full by trying to retain some of unrestricted free agents too.  About time that Avalanche needs a good change of direction since lockdown.

As long as it's not Tony Granato, I should approve.

well as the season went on I was questioning his ability to motivate, adjust, and counter.
I was kinda getting questioned about it myself. I was upset with the year they missed the playoffs (by 1 point). Well I'm glad...... I'm hoping the right guy comes in.

I heard a rumor that Paul Maurice the ex Maple Leaf Coach will be the next guy. I also heard that if he does end up coaching the Avs, there's a strong possibility that Sundin will end his career as an Avalanche. And a 2 for 1 it will do wonders.

Now I have a theory with all this. I do recall a hall of fame player that came in to end his career with the Avs, and won the Stanley Cup (Ray Bourque).

GO AVS .....

My list of ideas (not necessarily who I want)

1) Pat Burns - 3 Time Jack Adams winner with a Stanley Cup, not a bad CV.

2) Marc Crawford - Could we go back to the person who won the division every year, and led us to one of our Stanley Cups.

3) Bob Hartley - Again won the division every year and won a Stanley Cup.

4) Joe Sakic - A crazy idea but his passion would bring a buzz to the Pepsi Center.

5) Patrick Roy - A Hall of famer who won it for us.

6) Ray Bourque - Another Hall of famer who ended his career with us.

Crawford will never coach again in Colorado, not after the Bertuzzi-Moore incident. Crawford was thought to have told Bertuzzi to take out Moore.

What hurt Coach Q was his defensive minded hockey. Our offense is too potent, and I don't think it was used to potential. Giguere wants the team to be faster, so we obviously won't be going for a defensive coach.
