Snelling is on the DL, and he was Vic's replacement. Vic is back, and Snelling will go back to AAA after clearing waivers unless someone else gets injured. That's why he's still on the MLB roster, and not on the AAA roster. He doesn't go on waivers, because he might be claimed by another team.
It would also mean he (Snelling) is still officially on the 25 man roster. If so, Send him to AAA and sign Edmonds. I would take Edmonds over Snelling any day. Unless teams know or believe he can't play anymore.
Yes, he's on the 25-man roster, but there are 12 ACTIVE pitchers & 13 ACTIVE position players also. To bring Edmunds on board, someone other than Snelling would have to go. Who would you drop? Condrey, Taguchi, Werth, Coste, Bruntlett or Dobbs?
5 starters & 8 starters = 13 + 6 in the pen: Lidge, Flash, Romero, Durbin, Madson & Seanez = 19 + the 6 above named players in the 2nd question = 25 ACTIVE + Snelling on the DL = 26.
I agree... with Kenny Lofton, at least we'd be getting someone who can still hit and run. But, really, I don't see either of them fitting on this team, especially at the cost.
I'd take lofton over Edmunds, but I don't think it will happen. Both probably won't sign on the cheap. Also I'm not sure who you would send down.
Coste would have to stay on as 2nd catcher. Werth is playing too well leaving Brunlett tand Dobbs in my opinion. And its my opinion that I'd rather just stick with those two rather then add another outfielder
he still got some some game and he got some experiance for our youth to get I agree, and believe that you could be referring to either Edmonds or Lofton. However, neither would be worth the cost. We are already overpaying for at least one old, part-time outfielder (Jenkins). Plus, we already have players with experience... Moyer, Taguchi, Feliz, Lidge, and Gordon (and probably others that I'm missing) have significant post-season experience and all, except Feliz I believe, have won championships.

But I hardly think So is the guy that people look to for knowledgeable advice when it comes to experience.
As for the other 2 guys mentioned for the outfield, they would both want starter-type money, and expect starter-type playing time, and neither are worth either of those things. They're both old and declining.. Lofton may be a slightly better bet than Edmonds, but there is just no room or need for either of them on this team, at all. You would be throwing away millions of dollars on whoever it was. Granted that Jenkins is making a lot for being a part-time player, but he's already here, he's younger, and has the ability to be a starter should the need arise. I would trust him way more than the other 2.
Oh yeah, duh... I was wondering when Seattly won the Series... I guess "WC" stands for wild card and not "world champions" then, eh.. Anyway, they're all old and they all have "experiance", as the man said.
