I am going to go through position by position and give my ratings of each team...

QB...

Packers tied with the Lions at the top... Kitna wasn't bad last year, but he is getting older and is one hit away from being done.

Bears and Vikings... I don't know which team is worse... A guy who wasn't very good last year in TJack and Booty or a stable full of QBs who aren't any good in any games (Bears)

RB...

Vikings are first by far... Peterson and Taylor are the top of the division

Packers 2nd... Ryan Grant was a stud last year, and if he can stay healthy, he will be a force for the packers this year.

Bears... Who knows what is going to happen with Benson? They might end up with a rookie getting a lot of their snaps.

Lions... I think they got rid of all of there RBs from last year, so it is all on the shoulders of the rookie from 2nd or 3rd round... don't really remember.

WR...

Packers at the top by far... They are loaded top to bottom.

Lions... Roy Williams is a stud... The rest of their WRs aren't as good as the Packers WR though

Vikings, I guess... WR core is lacking and it doesn't help that their QB isn't very good.

Bears... Got rid of their 2 best WR... Devin Hester might be their most potent offensive weapon again.

TE

Bears and Packers are tied at the top... Olsen is a stud and will continue to get better... Donald Lee played amazing last year and Finley is an athletic freak

Lions... Crumpler was hurt a lot of the year last year, He will be a weapon if he can return to Mike Vick form.

Vikings... Who is their TE??? Wiggins is an HBack. Kleinsauser is kind of a FB... idk

OL...

Vikings... They paid for it thats for sure... The left side of their Line including center might be making as much as any other line in the division...

Packers... Tackles are studs, Spitz played good last year and the Guards are improving

Bears... They are getting older... Kid from Vanderbilt is an improvement

Lions... I think Kitna was sacked the most in the league last year... They are probably the worst of the devision.

Offense as a whole...

Packers... Even without Brett Favre, if Rodgers can get the ball to the WRs they will make plays for him... Plus we are going to be more balanced this year with Ryan Grant.

Vikings... Even with 8 men in the box Adrian Peterson is a beast... They are too one dimensional to be at the top..

Lions... With Mike Martz gone, i'm not sure what their offense is going to look like. Williams is a good receiver and Kitna is still a good QB.

Bears... What else is new... When Devin Hester is your best(and only) offensive weapon, your offense is in trouble.

Now for defense...

DL...

Vikings, barely... Jared Allen was a definite improvement, and they might have one of the best D lines in fball...

Packers... Kampman plays hard every down, and TT has done a great job adding quality depth... I think moving Cullen Jenkins to the DE spot is going to make our DL a lot better.

Bears... Tommy Kelly is a beast in the middle, but their DL is supposed to take up blocks, and make their LBs make all the tackles...

Lions... lost Rodgers... They don't have a strong DL together...

LB...

I have to give it to the Bears... They have the Best defensive player in the League almost every year... Their LB core might be the best in football.

Packers... Again, we are close to first just like at DL... Barnett and Hawk should be pro bowlers and i think Poppinga is a lot better than most people give him credit for.

Vikings... They are very young, but are starting to become a very good LB corps.

Lions... Their Defense just isn't very good... Ernie Sims is the only one who started in the NFL last year on the team this year.

CB...

Packers might have the two best CBs in the division on their team... Nickel spot is a worry but the guy out of Auburn hopefully can step in and take over for the worst player on the team in Bush...

Bears... Vasher and Tilman are great players...

Vikings... Winfield and Griffin are good DBs...

Lions... They might have one of the worst Ds in Football, and definitely in the division.

Saftey...

Vikings... Darren Sharper is an INT machine... They also picked up williams from Cincy...

Packers... Bigby came on big last year... I think he is going to be a great player, and Nick Collins has been questioned a lot, but I feel he is a good player.

Bears... if Mike Brown could ever stay healthy, he would probably be a perinial pro bowler, but he is always hurt...

Lions... They are in the cellar at all positions in Defense...

Defense Overall...

I think the Packers are getting better at D every year... They were a top 10 D last year, and they are all young and are going to continue to improve... I think they will be a top 5 D this year...

Vikings... They have a good D, but aren't quite as good as GB

Chicago... They were the best D in football a couple of years ago, but have gotten older, and aren't the same anymore. I think the top three are all very close, but i gave the edge to how the teams performed last year...

Lions... They are the worst in the division, and their Defense might be one of the worst in the league this year.

Special Teams...

Coverage and Return teams go to the Bears by far, There is no stopping devin hester.

As far as kicking goes, the packers have the best kicker... Mason Crosby was great last year and he will continue to improve as he gets more experience kicking in Lambeau.

Most of your post was true but the QB i think is wrong,

you cant tie a QB Kitna with a QB who never started a NFL game yet, if favre was still playin id put the pack on top but rogers is not proven like TJack.

good post but you have some false facts... first of all as the guy mentioned crumpler is on the Titans.. also wiggins is no longer on the Vikings, and kleinsasser plays as the 2nd string TE behind shiancoe and 2nd string FB behind Tony Richardson (although i think richardson is on the Jets now but i may be wrong)
defensively the Lions actually only lost Boss Bailey and still have Paris Lenon and Ernie Sims from last year, which is two starters... also their secondary doesn't actually look that bad if you take a good look... bodden is a stud and kelly is a good defender in the tampa 2, and alexander/bullocks are reliable... also Cullen Jenkins was a DE last year and the final games of the 2006-2007 season so they already did that with kgb being a pass specialist on third down, where they would move jenkins inside with williams because of their pass rushing abilities
i guess as some opinions ill go ahead and give the nod to the Bears for TE just because olson is good and Desmond Clark has done well over a stretch of years, unlike lee, who had his first very good year... i also think they drafted a TE in the second so i would give them the nod... and just for this moment although might not last long, give the lions the nod at qb with Jon Kitna
i guess two more thingsi that i think the lions receivers are very good... i wouldn't say the Packers are on top in that category by far but ill still give have them over the lions... and mike martz is a terrible play- caller and doesn't let the qb audible so now if the qb doesn't like the defensive setup at least he can change it to a different play... so i don't see their offense dropping off s much as you would think... the issue about the lions is that their d-line is depending on a lot of players to step it up this year and i just don't think they have the talent there to help out their d-backs/linebackers...who knows we'll see how this season turns out and hopefully the packers can win the superbowl this year... i deserve to dream, don't I?

I agree with the posts above... I was putting my list together while doing 5 other things so some of my facts aren't quite right... Thanks for the corrections, but overall i think the Packers do have the best offense by far, and the defense, if it keeps improving like it has over the past few years, will be a top 5 defense this year...

jkspeese, im going to say that the Bears LB core is better than GB.  Matching up.....

MLB---Brian Urlacher/Nick Barnett.--Bears.  if youre going to tell me or anyone you wouldnt have Brian Urlacher on your team youre insane, just because he plays for the Bears?  Barnett is consistent, but no dominant presence that Urlacher is.

WLB---Lance Briggs/AJ Hawk--Bears(just slightly).  Briggs has shown he can do it year in and out and puts up solid numbers, and most important, is proven. and even though Hawk is a very talented LB and proven, i would non-biased take Briggs over him right now.(key words=right now)  i think you all will agree.

SLB---Hunter Hillenmeyer/Brandon Chillar/Brady Poppinga--Bears.  Hillenmeyer makes plays and gets almost zero credit because of Briggs and Urlacher.  Poppinga i see make many penalties, and Chillar is unproven until he plays.

Other than that, everyone made a fair analysis about the positions, but I'd put Robbie Gould tied with Crosby as the best K.  Crosby has accuracy issues, but a very strong leg.  Gould is accurate within 50 yards, anything after is a?  Plus, i give Jeff Hanson a little more credit, even though hes on the Lions.
