I know this is a Chiefs board, but were in the time off year that it is a football droubt. We're getting into the heart of race season. I was just wondering if there are any Jr fans on here. If so what are some of your thoughts on his season after the switch to Hendrick.
I personally love the move, but I'm in no way fans of his teammates. I think he should/ve had a few wins by now if not for late race mistakes on pit strategy. Some a top tier crew chief wouldn't have made.
I'm an old die hard Mark Martin fan, but I do like Jr. I think he made the right move, which gives him the best chance to win. He's in the top 10 in points, has the best team and resources in NASCAR, and some bad luck and being a good sport (instead of being overly aggressive) has cost him some races. He will likely make the chase, and then it's anybodies ball game.
Mark is one of my favorites he is tha class act of nascar. Him like Jr being a good sport has cost him many races over his career, but he's also won a few. Jr has alot of Dale Sr in him, but he handles himself somewhat like Martin in front of the camera. After getting turned by Kyle Busch last weekend he displayed the class of Martin.
I'm an Edwards fan, home state driver and will driving for years to come. I've never liked Junior due to him being "Americas Driver". Then switching to Hendrick added to my dislike. I understand his reasoning though. I'm sure Hendrick is kicking himself in the a$$ for letting Kyle go, he just needed some time to mature. Imagine Hendrick with Johnson, Jr., Gordon, and Kyle Busch? Scary.
Anyway good thread, GO Edwards, I'm looking foward to seeing more back flips.
Yeah gi-hoke. I really like Edwards, he is beginning to be my replacement for Martin, as he might as well officially retire. And I really like Jack Roush. His back flips are classic, but I'm always afraid he will get injured, but he knows what he is doing. Did you see where the gymnastic expert give him real good grades for his flip? Pretty cool.
I just got into NASCAR about two years ago. I was stationed in Georgia and it was everywhere, everyone was talking about it, and I didnt have a driver. So, I did some researce and found Edwards. From Columiba (close to home), drives a Ford (my car of choice), was a competitive driver, and was young so I could have a driver for years. I say he has 2-3 more years of backflips in him, then i'd like him to stop. For saftey reasons. He's having a good year thus far, so I'm happy.
gi -hoke. I used to race stockcars at a few local dirt tracks. I didn't drive, but me and my buddy built the cars and I was crew chief. I'm a Ford man and we raced a Mustang 2 in the mini stock class. I had number 6 on the car, due to being a Mark Martin fan, but with him basically retired, I am rooting for Edwards. I'm a Ford man and also a Jack Rousch man. We even won the championship the last 2 years we raced. Just got to be too much money and time, and the wife was complaining about my whole Summer racing. Like you, I hope Edwards knows when to give up the back flips. He has won 3 races this year, and has numerous top 5's and 10's. I think he's got a shot at the championship this year, if he has some luck, minimal wrecks, engine problems etc. He's shown he can run well on any type of track, I hate the Busch brothers, I would root for anybody but them. I like Dale Jr., and hope he has a good year, but I still hope he comes in 2nd to Edwards.
