As a Bills fan I have to look at what we did pretty well at in 2007.  So I was just curious how you would rank the AFC East in terms of their ground attack.

Buffalo: I think Marshawn Lynch and Freddy Jackson make a great combo and will be a bright spot of this offense for years to come.  Lynch was a 1000 yard rusher in his rookie year and Jackson had a 5.0ypc average which is very good (I kno it would come down with more attempts but still very good).  With the second year of our offense line being together hopefully it will get even better.  Also, last year most teams didn't respect our passing game (as they shouldn't of since it was embarrasing) and stacked the box with 8 players.  The thing I love about Lynch is that he would not go down easy; he may not have the speed and agility of Peterson but I love seeing a guy that makes 3 or 4 people try to bring him down before he goes down.

Miami:  When Ronnie Brown went down early (who was having a career year by the way, pro bowl most likely) I thought their running game was gonna hit rock bottom.  But then came along Chatman and I thought he did very well (another bruiser of a back).  Next year, I really fear this ground attack.  If Ricky Williams doesn't get hurt and can play to only 75% of what he was before the whole suspension and Ronnie Brown can come back healthy, we may be looking at one of the best combos in the league.

NY Jets:  Jets had a pretty good ground attack behind a porous offensive line last year.  Thomas Jones and Leon Washington did some good damage even if it didn't show in the TD category.  I think this year they will improve even better with the additions to their offensive line.  Thomas Jones is a good back and Leon Washington can be very explosive.

NE:  Maroney is a great back but isn't really needed when your quarterback has 50TDs.  He didn't get over 1000 yards, but he was still very consistent (4.5ypc).  I wasn't too impressed with the running game last year, but then again I think it was because they really didn't run too much (compared to the amount of passing plays) and the offensive line did not give a great push or block in the games I saw for Maroney.  However, they are the Pats and next year I think that they will have a good running game to complement a stellar passing game.  Not sure if the Bills have enough to get a win next.  Hopefully the year after (what is it now like 3-4 years since we've won against them with Bledsoe?)

So what do you all think about the AFC East and the ground attack?

I really liked this post.
The Bills have a great rushing attack and Lynch was one of the very few bright spots on our offense. I also love his running style fighting for every yard and becoming "Beast Mode, " which according to him means a single defender can't knock him down. The Dolphins also have a great rushing attack and Ronnie Brown matured as one of the great NFL backs before he went down with an injury and he frightens me. I think the Patriots should take spot 3 because Kevin Faulk and Laurence Maroney are both great backs even without no need for anything else on their offense. The Jets had horrible running game and Thomas Jones is washed up. If the Jets get a top 10 pick next year (which I hope), they'll likely get Chris Wells.
