I hope that your stay at the top was fun. Let me be the first to say that it is about time for it to be over. With Norv at the helm, you had to know that it wasn't going to last for long. I can't wait for your roid boys try and tackle a QB that is bigger than they are. That should be entertaining. I guess we will see how another year removed from the juice does. It will also be fun to watch Mcfadden out LT LT.
Too bad they signed good ole Norv. The Chargers might have lasted at least one more year. Boo Hoo, that was my one tear shed for you.

Yeah Raider fan way to base the season on a quarterback and a running back that are both unproven
but one thing is for certain, in April 2009 you will hear in the first pick of the NFL draft the Raiders select
Enjoy another 4 win season

Thanks for the well wishes.
I think your Raiders WILL be improved. How much? Well, that's why they play the games. JaMarcus Russell with a full training camp will be improved and fun to watch. Darren McFadden should be very entertaining too. Fast and great moves.
I think with Norv Turner entering his second year my Chargers will get outta the gate fast this year, and not have time to look back. The only contender in the first 5 games is the Panthers. They could be heading into the Oct 12th game against the Patriots at the Q 5-0...
Again, thanks for the wishes. . .

All smack aside. Turner is not a good coach. He was given a team that should have been playoff bound with Art Shell as the head coach, which is worse than having no head coach. Anyone of us could have had the Chargers in the playoffs last year. He will be the end to your time at the top. If LT retires with him as your head coach, that will be it.
I am not just basing my opinion on Norv Turner's stint in Oakland, he did just as horrible in Washington.
On a side note. I do, however, love to watch LT play. He is a great football player that is exciting to watch. I just think he will pull a Barry Sanders and retire before his skills deter

Well there were a lot of Chargers fans on this page saying the same thing about Norv Turner. They did start out slowly last year and that made the dialogue even worse.
For me I had a wait and see mentality. I liked Schotenheimer ok, but he really made some bonehead calls in that playoff game against the Patriots after the 06 season. So I wasn't heartbroken to see him go.
The Chargers got into the "change head coaches" game a little late. I thought at the time they just got stuck with what was left. As it turned out (for at least last season) it appears he did ok. I think it is possible for head coaches to learn and evolve into better head coaches. Billicheat wasn't much with the Browns. He's had way better success recently huh?
Looking ahead, I think with the talent he has the Chargers should be fine for a couple more years. You can't really say getting to the AFC Ch. game was a bad season. If they hadn't had LaDainian Tomlinson, Antonio Gates and Philip Rivers injured they might have even been the ones to knock off the Pats? (I know, big MIGHT)
As far as LT pulling a Barry Sanders, he has already indicated that he will not play once HE feels he can't contribute at his high level. So I suspect he's got 2 or at the most 3 seasons left. If he gets a ring? Maybe less...

Only time will tell for sure about Norv Turner. However, considering the Chargers were able to beat the Colts with an injured LT, Gates and Rivers and give the undefeated Patriots a tough time with all those injuries with both games on the road, you have to admit that Turner did not necessarily do a horrible job.
He will be the end to your time at the top.
At the top of what??? The AFC West? Big deal. The last two times we won that division, we went into the playoffs with a long, hot winning streak just to get booted by the Patriots. And then there was that 3rd time we got booted out at home by a wildcard team. The Giants were not division winners, yet they won the Superbowl. You can have the division. I want a Superbowl.

There are dreamers in this world any day now you will wakeup. Find out your Raiders are the same lame team they have been for the last 5 years. But you can always dream McFadden will be just like Bell he will get hurt before the 5th week.Your teams O-line is still one off the woarst in The NFL. Your D-line is just as bad. The Chargers will still be on top! The Raider will still be on the bottom half of the NFL. enough High draft picks and the Raiders still suck that has to hurt. Chargers win!!!!!!

Chargers will be at the top for years to come. AJ knows how to draft and then sign the stars to long term contract. Raiders, on the other hand, blow the draft every year and over-pay for FA's. It's your owner's fault... not your coach's fault. I'll be laughing every year that Norv comes in and kicks the sh*t out of your lousy team. It will be his way of paying Al back.
