10 Seasons as a Ranger, 280 Goals, King Clancy Memorial Trophy winner for leadership during the Stanley Cup year, Bill Masterton Trophy for sportsmanship in his final year with the Rangers shows how classy of a guy he is.  He was a multiple award winner of in house and media awards as well.

8 seasons above 20 goals
4 seasons above 30 goals
1 season above 50 goals

He had (now tied with Jagr) the record for most goals ever scored in a single season by any Ranger player.  He was a fan favorite (including my favorite Ranger ever - was just before the time of the cup that I started watching as a kid).

Finally, he never left the Rangers, during the offseason of '01, he was traded to San Jose for younger talent.  Although the trade ended up a bust for NY, you can't pin that on Graves.  Even now, I believe he is still with the Rangers in some capacity.  I know my cousin met him during one of the games in the Rangers personal box.

Plust - 54 years with a cup.  Every star on that team needs to be hailed as a savior.  Graves was fantastic and I'm stoked for him!

But unless they played in the 30's-40, they didn't win any cups...  Gravey did

Oh, and my stats were more to show that your 2-3 good season theory was well off base
