Last I heard, Coburn's left eye was swollen shut and he had dizziness on the plane back to Philadelphia. Richards stepped up big time in game 1 and the short-handed breakaway goal was huge, more people, including Briere, Prospal, need to step up if they want to win. They are most likely going to be down both of their top defensemen, how lucky are the Pen's now, I don't think they could have dreamed this to happen...we are giving them the Conference.Wondering what everyone else thinks.

Couple thoughts here PhillyFaze -

Coburn will most likely sit game 3 and will be 50/50 for game 4. I doubt he plays either, the way Stevens sounded on 610 this afternoon. Count him out at this point.

Parent should be in the line-up from here out, because you might as well get a young guy experience at the very least here. He is the future of our defense with Coburn. I think he should be ahead of Kukkonen and Modry anyway, but, whatever.

Kapanen should get some consideration at D again like a few years ago. Although, that might not be the option it was years ago now that he is aging. I would still give him a rotation here and there just to match some speed though.

The first unit (both F's and D) have been absolutely gone. Briere's line has been awful, and obviously our starting D is injured.

Aside from Richards, and flashes of the Carter line, it appears that the Flyers are just out of gas. It still amazes me how Carter himself can go from being a hero to a zero from shift to shift. At times he looks like a 50 goal scorer, and then there are times he just makes 4th line player mistakes. His goal last night was a factor of Lupul's pass.

Scottie Upshall, who has earned a lot of respect this playoff run, continues to do so. But riddle me this?? Should he be the one dropping gloves to fire the troops? I loved it, but Upshall?.... Hello.... Jason Smith.... are you home??? When you wear the C, you better be the one setting the pace. I know we can't necessarily have a Defenseman in the box for 5 mins when we are already down so many, but come on! Get something going here! Hatcher can't be the only one looking to send the message!

I've said too much, and there's more to be said. But one thing is for damn sure, we're in trouble if we go down Tuesday, and we are going to have to stomach listening to Pit fans thinking their s!#t don't stink.

Tuesday prediction: Richards goal, Umberger goal, and Briere goal. Flyers win 3-2 in a nail-biter to save some face and maybe the series. Wishful thinking, but we are due!

CKB19,

I wanted to see Hatcher and Big George go at it, but Hatcher didn't want to drop his gloves in game 2. That is the heavy weight bout that I think would be most entertaining. George told him he wanted to go and he wouldn't do it. It was probably smart on his part for a few reasons. The first being that Laraque is a crazy scrapper and most sane people wouldn't want to tangle with him, but Hatcher also means alot more to your team's play than Laraque means to us. Hopefully we will get to see them go at some point. This was George's quote:

Laraque challenged Hatcher to a heavyweight fight in one of the game's opening shifts, but Hatcher never dropped the gloves. "Hatcher went after [Evgeni] Malkin last game," Laraque said later, as he defended the unwritten code. "Hatch is, what, 6-5, 230 pounds?" If you go after a guy like that, you have to face the music."

I agree with CKB19.  Actually, I thought we should've moved Kapanen back to D for the last game.  I don't understand why Stevens continues to keep Parent buried behind Modry on the depth chart...it does him no good for the future, not to mention Modry doesn't give us any advantage over using Parent.

I swear, if it wasn't for Briere penalty (which was ridiculous, btw) you would've never known he was playing this series...as far as Prospal, he's been a no-show as well.

As a Pens fan I couldn't agree more. Actually it takes away from the wins so far.

I have to say after reading this Canadian clowns post about Americans deserving 9/11.

http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/messages/thread/7884665

I am really happy Your team kicked the crap out of the Canadians. You guys should check this out (if you take pride in being an American if not don't bother).

Good job Flyers! Pens in 5! Better luck with the health issues next year guys. I've had to see some of my teams suffer that way and the unknown of what could've happened does suck. Let this idiot have it.

Hatcher has never turned down an opportune fight, so don't even give me that. If anything, he's at least picking the moment when he can afford to have a 5 min penalty, which is to say its probably not there since we are 2 starting D down. You can also listen to the audio of game 1 during a 3rd period scuffle behind the Pittsburgh net. Hatch dropped his gloves hoping to go with a Pen (Malone I believe was the player, but I could be wrong) repeatedly saying "My gloves have been off."

Learn the game. If Hatch is a Forward, the outcome is different. He's no idiot like your boy Ruutu.

And by the way, your boy Malkin who likes to elbow smaller players in the back of the head might have to learn how to protect himself one of these days without Georges or the zebras.

Oh wise CKB19, Please teach me the game of hockey. My guess is I was at my first hockey game before you were born. I tried to engage you in a fun manner and you have no response other than an ignorant post that i don't know the game.  Hatcher is afraid of big George, maybe he will man up and take his beating before we sweep your team away. I  have had alot of great discussions with Flyers fans but when I run into a little pu$$y like you the gloves come off.,,,,,, Enjoy your off season....

Ha ha, I am not going to apologize, but I was a little fired up last night. A double shot of tequilla for every Pens goal will do that. I really didn't need that empty netter at the end.  I have enjoyed mixing it up with most Flyers fans, with the young talent that both teams have I think we will be mixing it up for years to come.

GO PENS!
