Too bad they don't give this kid some minutes.  I understand that Flip trusts a veteran like Ratliff more than he does a 20-year old, however, Amir Johnson provided a lot of energy during the season that I think could be beneficial in small doses in the playoffs.  What do you guys think?

In the playoffs, experience plays a big factor. Ratliff defense will cause problems for the Magic inside game. Amir was great during the regular season. In the playoffs, it is all about what is the best match up with the other team.

Amir was de-activated for Game 4. I actually thought he would be used this series. He has the size and quickness to match up better against Lewis.

The reason he was de activated was because of Billups injury, they usually have Hunter and Dixon De activated but both were activated due to Billups injury forcing Amir to be scratched for the game.... Amir was active for the first 3 games to provide depth if they needed it, if the bigs got into foul trouble.

Flip is gonna stay with his vetran guys as much as possible, I don't think you will see much of Amir in these play-offs. Flip will have to get Amir into the rotation alot more next season so he will be ready for the play-off strech. But that is still a year away and there is no gaurantee Flip will even be here next season.

Amir has the size to matchup against Lewis, but his game is closer to the hoop than Lewis'.  Lewis would either eat him up with the jumper or blow by him on a drive.  And Amir doesn't (few do) have the size/ability to play inside against Howard.  I didn't expect to see him mush this series even before the Billups injury.   I will expect to see some minutes against either of the C's in the next round as he can play Ben, or Var on Cle and maybe Perkins, Powe, Brown, and Posey on the Celts will be a little harder, but would be a good show of where he is.

He's not ready for a 2nd or 3rd round matchup.  He shoulda been used more in the 6ers series to gain some experience for next year but right now at this stage in his career just have a seat and watch the vets come through.

Take notes Amir...
