I'm pretty sure I never criticized the way the NFL handles steroid usage.  Nor did I say they never had their problems with it, so why you are saying that, I'm not really sure, the problem with all sports though is that they don't have a test for HGH and until that happens, steroids will always be a part of sports.  If this "dealer" starts naming names of big stars in the NFL, you don't think this will start something up similar to the Bonds and Clemens issue in baseball??

No I don't.  The thing that was started in the Bonds fiasco was the demand for tougher testing and tougher penalties.  The NFL already has that.

To suggest that baseball's steroid problem has or might spread to other sports indicates a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation.  James_Gumb correctly pointed out that the NFL had a huge steroid mess in the 80s, and it was during this time that most folks figured out that steroids are a big problem.  MLB owners watched the NFL go through the steroid problem (see Lyle Alzado).  But MLB ignored the problem for another 20 years, and this is precisely the reason pro baseball's current steroid issue is such an embarassment.  MLB turned its back on the problem and basically did nothing until Congress got involved.  The NFL at least gave the appearance that it wasn't going to tolerate steroid use.  MLB on the other hand turned its back on the problem because the great HR race between McGwire and Sosa was great for tv ratings and ticket sales, especially after MLB cancelled the World Series in the mid-90s due to labor strife.  Pro baseball has been run into the ground by greedy, near-sighted players and owners, and the sport will never be the same.

I don't see how this will turn into a big show like it did because of Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa and McGuire...and so on and so forth...

Not that I don't think steriods is an issue I just agree with the other posters that MLB and the NFL have handled their stance on steriods much differently....
