I apologize if I have misled any Tiger fans on this board. For weeks I have been referring to the Tigers as over-hyped and under performing....calling them a flawed ball club. I was wrong! The Detroit Tigers are just a bad ball club. No hit, no field, no pitch, no heart. It is a real shame that Mr. Illitch and Mr. Dombrowski foisted this collection of inadequate ball players on such quality fans as Tiger fans.

Kudos goes to Ivan Rodgriguez who still shows a little fire out there.

One last thing. Has anyone ever wondered if Dombrowski still has any financial ties with the Florida Marlins?

I agree. Also  Why is Sheffeild still playing??? Everyone is talking about Hernandez the pitching coach .. What about Leyland?? Can anyone dare to call for his demise...With the talent the Tigers have somethings not right. Are the players dictacting to management??

I dont think its leyland fault.  Besides who else could do a better job?  I feel the coach gets to much blame for losses and too much credit for wins.  The Tigers just plain arent hitting and no one seems to know why.  The pitiching hasnt been that bad lately just not getting any help from the hitters. they got holimon in toledo who hit 10 hrs in 8 games.  they should give him a shot although hedoes play 2nd base.  maybe DH him he couldnt do any worse than sheffield. some shakeup needs to be made just to wake these guys up a bit.

Let's see. DH possibilities already on the team. Gary Sheffield, Marcus Thames,Carlos Guillen, Magglio Ordonez, Miggy Cabrera. All of these guys have DH written all over them. We don't need more.

Oh we dont need more dh's.....hmmmm.....lets see sheffield .189....thames.224 wow hitting very well there....guillen plays 3rd and ordonez plays right.....hmmm not dh's...you have guys hitting lights out in toledo and guys in detroit who have turned the lights out....a little shakeup wouldnt hurt.  But i see iffy u dont mind if they take the entire season to break out of slump.....maybe we can have a big finale the last series in september where all those guys finally hit. I'm not saying that the guys in toledo are going to save the day but why not give them a shot.  at this point what do they have to lose.

Looks like YOU are following the club closely this year! "Guillen plays 3rd" - is that what you call it? I wasn't sure WHAT he was doing....or what he was trying to do at 1st either. Ordonez plays right.....yes he does....for a team that doesn't care about fielding. Ordonez has never been a good outfielder, but he is adequate, I suppose, when you have "pure" DHers like Sheffield, Carlos Guillen, Marchus Thames, and CABRERA!.

I have no problem bringing up guys from Toledo. But we better have someplace, ON THE FIELD, to play them. Adding one dimensional players to the team is how we got to the point we are now.

Iffy, you must have lost some sleep or something, you are usually right on, but to say that Mag's is not a good outfielder is not accurate at all, and not supported by any stats that I can find.  </
