Gallardo back in September?: The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Brewers SP Yovani Gallardo, who had successful knee surgery in mid-May to repair a torn ACL, says he hopes to be back in September. "I would like to pitch before the end of the year," Gallardo said. "That's what I'm shooting for. If I'm not ready, it's not worth taking the risk. But everything's going good. I'm going to do everything possible to stay on the right track. I'm not counting on it but hopefully I can come back (in September). That's my goal." (Updated 07/09/2008).

Gallardo's surgery went very well back in May, and Gallardo is only 22, so it's definitely possible that the pitching star could be back to help the Brewers make a run either TO the postseason, or IN it. You might want to wait a little longer to pick him up outside of keeper formats just to see how his rehab comes along, but he's worth owning in every format when healthy, so don't wait too long.
