Error costs Kennedy a no-no: Yankees starter Ian Kennedy pitched 8 2/3 innings without allowing a hit for Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre and got a grounder to second for what should have been the final out of a no-hitter. But an error by the second baseman Chris Basak extended the game and Kennedy then allowed a double. Another error allowed the tying run to score. (Updated 07/25/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Kennedy has allowed just nine earned runs in his last 33 1/3 innings in Triple-A and it is getting to be a real possibility that Kennedy could be getting a call back to the majors soon. He struggled mightily to begin the season and an injury landed him on the disabled list, but Kennedy was expected to be a regular part of the rotation this season. The Yankees have two tentative spots in the bottom of the rotation with Sidney Ponson and Darrell Rasner and Kennedy's way back in could be if on of those pitchers struggles and needs to be replaced. The best bet at this point would be Rasner, but he is coming off a solid outing. There is also the possibility that the Yankees make a deal for a pitcher at the trade deadline. Kennedy is worth taking a flyer on in AL-only play at this point. (Updated 07/25/2008).
