Pierre activated by L.A. Friday: The Los Angeles Dodgers activated outfielder Juan Pierre from the 15-day disabled list Friday. They made room on the 25-man roster by placing outfielder Delwyn Young on the DL retroactive to Thursday with a strained right oblique. Pierre, who missed 20 games because of a sprained left knee while on the disabled list for the first time in his career, was in the lineup batting leadoff against the Washington Nationals on Friday night in the opener of a three-game series.
