McGowan gets good news after surgery: The Sports Xchange reports Toronto RHP Dustin McGowan underwent shoulder surgery in Cincinnati to repair some fraying of his labrum, but the surgeon, Timothy Kremchek, determined he did not have to operate on McGowan's rotator cuff, which has a small tear. General manager J.P. Ricciardi hopes McGowan will be ready by spring training. "It's encouraging news," Ricciardi said. "We might have to bring him along a little slower in spring training."
