Struggling SP Ian Kennedy was sent to the minor leagues Sunday by the New York Yankees, who purchased Darrell Rasner's contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Kennedy was 0-2 with an 8.37 ERA in six games, including five starts. "I was kind of surprised," Kennedy said. "But it's bound to happen if you don't win, especially here." The Yankees plan to give Rasner another start Friday or Saturday in Detroit. Kei Igawa could be called up from Triple-A to pitch in that series as well. "That's the way we're leaning right now," GM Brian Cashman said. To make room for Rasner on the 40-man roster, the Yankees transferred reliever Brian Bruney (right foot) from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL. (Updated 05/04/2008).
Injury Report
Foot - 60-day DL. Out until at least early August (Updated - 5/4/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Kennedy is young and talented and may well be back up with the Yankees later this season. He is only worth hanging on to in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues at this time, however. Igawa has potential to be a sleeper low-end starter in most Fantasy leagues, but he flopped making the adjustment to the majors last year as a rookie coming over from Japan (2-3, 6.29 ERA in six starts). Consider him in AL-only formats and deeper mixed league for now. As for Rasner, only use him in AL-only leagues at this time. (Updated 05/04/2008).

Advice
Bruney has a Lisfranc injury in his mid-foot and isn't expected to be back until at least August.
