Hill all the way back in Class A: According to The Sports Xchange notes: The Cubs are keeping a close eye on LHP Rich Hill, currently trying to regain his command in the Arizona Rookie League. Hill opened the season as the No. 4 starter before being demoted to Triple-A Iowa (Des Moines) in early May. He continued to struggle at Iowa, and the Cubs sent him to their spring facility in Mesa, Ariz. On Sunday, Hill worked four innings and gave up one hit while walking one and striking out six. Fantasy Analysis
The Cubs are putting no timetable on a possible return to the big leagues for Hill, so consider him nothing more than a minor-league stashee until August or later at this point. There is some thought he won't be straighten out in time to help the Cubs at all in 2008. Barring injury, he still should compete for a rotation spot in spring 2009, though. (Updated 07/08/2008).
