White Sox SP Javier Vazquez ended up with a no decision -- his second in four outings -- during Thursday's game against the Angels. Vazquez took a 3-2 lead into the seventh before Maicer Izturis hit a two-out infield single and took third on Vladimir Guerrero's double off the fence in right-center. Matt Thornton relieved Vazquez and got Garret Anderson to hit a grounder to third baseman Joe Crede, whose fielding error allowed the tying run to score. Vazquez allowed three runs -- two earned -- and nine hits in 6 2/3 innings with no walks and six strikeouts. The Angels got the jump on him in the first inning with Anderson's RBI single and Casey Kotchman's run-scoring double, but the White Sox came right back with three in the third. (Updated 05/16/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Vazquez has allowed two or fewer runs in five of his last seven starts. He has mixed a few bad outings amongst many good ones, which is why he has a 3.53 ERA. But that is still a respectable mark and Vazquez is still a must-start Fantasy SP because of his high-strikeout potential. There is also a very good chance he will net double-digit wins for the 10th straight season. His next scheduled start is for Wednesday against the Indians. He is 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA in one start against Cleveland this season. (Updated 05/16/2008).
Vazquez had a shaky outing, but was able to win for the first time in four starts as the White Sox beat host Seattle, 8-4, on Saturday. (Updated 05/11/2008)
Advice
Vazquez had given up just two runs and a combined 12 hits over 15 2-3 innings in his previous two starts before allowing four runs and six hits in 5 2-3 innings of Saturday's game. Still, he improved to 4-3 with a 3.63 ERA in eight starts this season.
