Braves' Reyes leaves start with blister; Carlyle knocked out

ATLANTA -- Atlanta Braves left-hander Jo-Jo Reyes left Thursday's game against San Diego after developing a blister on his left index finger.

Reyes, making his second start of the season, gave up five hits and two runs in 2 2/3 innings. He was removed in the third inning after issuing his second walk.

Buddy Carlyle relieved Reyes but left in the fifth inning following a first-base collision with Kevin Kouzmanoff. Carlyle fielded a grounder and tagged Kouzmanoff about halfway down the first-base line as Kouzmanoff's left thigh hit Carlyle's head.

Carlyle showed the umpires the ball before falling forward to the ground. Atlanta assistant trainer Jim Lovell helped Carlyle to his feet and held the pitcher's arm while escorting him off the field.

Carlyle was listed as day to day with a muscle strain to the left side of his neck.
