    News
The surprising Florida Marlins used a brazen bunt to help end Brandon Webb's winning streak. Florida scored its first run on a suicide squeeze, and Ricky Nolasco yielded just three hits over seven innings to beat Webb and the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1 on Wednesday night. Stephen Drew hit his sixth homer for the Diamondbacks, but that's all the offense they could muster against Nolasco (3-3). Nolasco walked two and struck out seven. It was his second win in three starts.

Marlins SP Mark Hendrickson lasted just five innings Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, but it was enough to earn the 3-2 win. Hendrickson (6-2) needed 97 pitches to get through five innings and the last batter he faced was Chris B. Young, who struck out looking with runners at first and third to end the fifth. Hendrickson retired the first nine batters before Young doubled to start the fourth. After he was caught stealing, Augie Ojeda walked, took third on a single by Orlando Hudson and scored on Conor Jackson's sacrifice fly. Hendrickson allowed the one run, four hits and one walk. He struck out seven.

    Back - 15-day DL. Out until at least mid-June (Updated - 5/20/08)
    News
Marlins OF Josh Willingham could be sidelined another month or more because of a herniated disc that has kept him out since April 27. Willingham, who was also hampered by back trouble last season, underwent an MRI Monday in Los Angeles and was examined by orthopedist Dr. Robert Watkins. "He's the Dr. James Andrews of backs," Willingham said Tuesday. "He told me it was a herniated disc, which is the same problem I have had. But I felt better seeing him." He said Watkins told him his back needs to be strengthened, and it will be 10 days to three weeks before he can resume baseball activity. A three-week layoff would likely mean it would be at least mid-June before Willingham rejoined the lineup. Watkins didn't rule out surgery as a last resort, Willingham said.
