    News
According to The Sports Xchange notes: SS Jack Wilson's injury rehabilitation assignment shifted to Double-A Altoona from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday night, and he was 0-for-3 in seven innings against Akron in an Eastern League game. Wilson, on the disabled list since April 4 with a slightly torn muscle in his left calf, went 4-for-12 (.333) with one double, two RBI and two runs in four games for Indianapolis. Manager John Russell said Wilson's return would "likely be within a week."

According to The Sports Xchange notes: Jose Bautista was back in the lineup Tuesday night after an extended break to work out his hitting problems. Bautista was benched for the final four games of the Pirates' road trip that ended Sunday while Doug Mientkiewicz played third base. "We've seen some good signs at times from Jose this season, but there hasn't been that consistency," Russell said. "He's put in a lot of work, and we're hopeful it will pay off. We're looking to get some production at that position with a right-handed hitter in Jose and a left-handed hitter in Mientkiewicz."

    News
According to The Sports Xchange notes: Jose Bautista was back in the lineup Tuesday night after an extended break to work out his hitting problems. The break didn't help much, as the third baseman went 0-for-3 with a walk in a 7-2 loss to Milwaukee in the opener of a three-game home series. Bautista was benched for the final four games of the Pirates' road trip that ended Sunday while Doug Mientkiewicz played third base. Bautista spent extra time in the batting cages with hitting coach Don Long in an effort to break out of his season-long hitting slump. When asked what Bautista needed to do to start hitting, manager John Russell was stumped. "If I knew the answer to that then (first baseman) Adam LaRoche would hit .500 in April instead of .180," Russell said. "It's a great question. We're trying to find an answer."
