Mets use long ball to batter Reds
Carlos Beltran and Ryan Church hit back-to-back homers in the fifth inning to support Oliver Perez and lead the New York Mets to an 8-3 victory Sunday over the bumbling Cincinnati Reds.

Reds report: Notes, quotes
--LF Adam Dunn was in Sunday's lineup despite taking pregame treatment for an ingrown toe nail on his right big toe, "Something I've never had before and man it is on fire," he said

Shortstop Jeff Keppinger has been a fill-in for most of the last two seasons and there may not be a better so-called stopgap in all of baseball.

Just simply ridiculous.  Even though he's not even hitting .200, Patterdouche is yet again in the lineup...leading off.  The Reds are the laughing stock of the Majors because of this stupidity.

The Reds batted out of order in the 9th inning after a double switch. This is incredible. I thought these things only happened in little league. What a complete and utter embarrassment. How much more do we have to endure before changes are made. This is just one more reminder why Krivsky was fired.

5 for 5 tonight.... If anyone can give me one legitimate reason Jeff Keppinger shouldn't be our SS of the rest of the year and into the future, I'll consider him for the bench. but I just don't see it, he has gone well above anything this team could have ever expected out of him. I'd give you the fact there may be a short sto ...(more)

Well, the mental mistakes this team commits on a regular basis are absolutely unacceptable.  I'm not telling you guys anything you didn't already know.  Pickoffs, missed cutoff men, the inability to bat in the proper order, etc. are the norm for this team, and the underlying attitude is the reason this team is severely underperforming considering the talent we have.  i am no ...(more)

Rumor Mill
The Cincinnati Enquirer speculates that former Reds' GM Wayne Krivsky could return to scouting. He's already heard from two clubs about jobs but would only say that one was via phone and the other was, "a little more formal." Krivsky also said, "I wouldn't mind scouting the National League out of Great American Ball Park," he said. "I'd be comfortable walking in there." Krivsky wanted to clear up any questions writers had about his time as GM. Here's a few: >. (updated: 04/30/2008)
