Just saw on ESPN that Mark Prior tore something in his shoulder and will be re-evaluated in 2 weeks. Stick a fork in him. Padres took a chance and got burned

I can't believe he's wearing a Cubs jersey ;(
A serious question though - why sign him and not develop Pie?
By nature I hate all Cubs, so this is really messing with me
My Cubs-Fans friends don't even know

It sounds rediculous, but in essence it is what Cub fans are doing when they boo a guy that is giving 100% effort. If a guy is doing the absolute best that he can, and giving his all to attempt to suceed at the highest possible level, then booing him is the same as saying you should have been born faster, stronger, or with better reflexes. As far as I know the only one

Why can't we just play one series each year and flip flop the location annually?
I would have loved to have made the trip to Fenway or Yankee stadium to see the Cubs. We miss them because of the damn WhiteSox .
The series between the two has lost a little something anyway. 6 games a year is way too much in

Alright, so earlier today I read a post talking about guys who had come to the Cubs late in their careers and revived their career. I believe some of the names were Rod Beck, Todd Hollandsworth, etc.....
I was looking for this post to tell a friend about. We like to pull old names out of the archives. For instance, I recentl

Let me guess, after riping the hell out of Soriano up until this week and half of the Cubs faithful on here wanting him traded, you all love Alfonso and hope he stays a Cub forever.
Still think he should be batting leadoff? That seems like a lot of wasted HR's with nobody on base.
P.S. Would you slow

CHICAGO -- When asked about Ted Lilly's hitting style, Cubs hitting coach Gerald Perry smiled, then laughed. The left-handed pitcher has a very unique approach that shouldn't be copied, but shouldn't be missed.
Before last year, Lilly had one hit in 26 at-

I was looking through the stats this morning and the biggest stat that I believe is translating into wins for us is the fact the we have 5 players with OB% higher than .401 (5 out of the top 15 players in the NL). That is impressive. This is so much different than previous teams we have had. We are getting guys on base and driving them in.

I don't know if any of you guys have noticed this, but isn't it weird how many former players/coaches end out working in the Chicago Cubs' organization in some way (most notably in commentary), even if their tenure in Chicago as a player or coach was short-lived? My prime examples are: Bob Brenly (None), Dan Plesac
