--2B Dan Uggla's solo home run was his ninth of the month, tying a franchise record for homers in May.
--Manager Fredi Gonzalez said 1B Mike Jacobs will start Saturday if he has no soreness or setbacks from running drills he did on Friday. "It felt good," said Jacobs, who has had three pinch-hit appearances since injuring his hamstring May 7. "Hopefully I'll play and be able to manage it."
--CF Alfredo Amezaga has gone 3-for-14 in his last three starts, dropping his batting average to .229 with a .314 on-base percentage in 36 games this season.
--Two injured pitchers continue to make progress. RHP Josh Johnson (elbow) will throw a simulated game Monday. RHP Anibal Sanchez (shoulder) will throw batting practice early next week. Johnson isn't expected to return until September. Sanchez hopes to return by July.
BY THE NUMBERS 212 -- Games (through May 11) the Marlins had played without a starter throwing a complete game. LHP Scott Olsen came within one strike of going all the way Tuesday against the Brewers before he walked Joe Dillon with two on and two out in the ninth. Florida won 3-0 after Kevin Gregg threw one pitch to get Bill Hall on a fly out.
