OF Jose Guillen (neck stinger) was injured May 7 and did not play May 8. He returned May 9.
LHP John Bale (fatigued shoulder, fractured left hand) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 16. He threw a pain-free bullpen session April 29, and he was scheduled to be activated in the middle of the week of May 5-11. But after a so-so bullpen session May 2 during which his shoulder didn't respond as Bale would've hoped, Bale punched a hotel door in Cleveland and fractured his left (throwing) hand. He will be out until at least mid-June.
RHP Luke Hudson (shoulder surgery in June 2007) opened the season on the 15-day disabled list. He did not pitch in a spring training game and had a minor setback in mid-March.
