--1B Carlos Pena received his 2007 AL Silver Slugger award prior to Sunday's game. Pena was the first Rays player to win a Silver Slugger, which is voted on by coaches and managers and goes to the top offensive player at each position.

--Behind RHP James Shields on Friday and LHP Scott Kazmir on Saturday, the Rays posted back-to-back shutouts for just the fourth time in team history, most recently since Sept. 3-4, 2003, when Doug Waechter and Jorge Sosa blanked the Mariners.

--DH Cliff Floyd was activated from the DL after Friday's game and was in the lineup Sunday. He saw his first action since April 11 right knee surgery, knocking in two runs with a pair of singles. "He makes a huge difference for us," manager Joe Maddon said.

--RHP Gary Glover (shoulder) will be activated Monday after a brief stint on the DL, and the Rays made room by saying that LHP Kurt Birkins, who filled in impressively, would be optioned to Class AAA Durham. INF Ben Zobrist also could be activated on Monday; he will have a procedure in the morning to have pins removed from his fractured left thumb and will be checked after that. RHP Al Reyes (biceps tendinitis) could be back later in the week.

--DH/OF/1B/3B Eric Hinske's playing time may be reduced slightly with the return of DH Cliff Floyd from the DL. Floyd will become the primary DH, with Hinske likely starting in right field against right-handed pitchers and filling in at first and third.

--RHP Andy Sonnanstine's winning streak ended at four as he showed an uncharacteristic lack of command in allowing eight hits and walking two while lasting just five innings.

BY THE NUMBERS
5 -- Games over .500, at 21-16, for the first time in the franchise's 11-season history.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"We feel like we're going to win every game right now." -- Left fielder Carl Crawford.

So even in games where our starting pitching did not look so good, how is it that the Rays are still managing to pull out huge come from behind victories? This upcoming road trim in St. Louis followed by a stint out in Oakland will show a lot about our young ballclub.

We have played the most division games so far with 30, only one other team is even close to that amount.  Our 18 and 12 record within the division so far looks to be a good start but the series against St. Louis is going to show how deep our club is.  Joe Ma ...(more)

Not bad when that's the record of your number five pitcher, huh?

I was hoping Andy would've pitched the 9th having only thrown 98 pitches, but it was a smart move to take him out and put Percival in.

Your team looks pretty great this year and I belive will be there until the end. The Rays have kicked the Yankees butt all year so far. This should be alot of fun watching the race thru the year. Its nice to have a strong AL east. So Congrats to all the loyal Ray fans.

Is anyone seeing a flashback  to 1995 Chipper Jones??

I'm not saying the Rays will go to the series but this kid is clutch and making some veteran plays as a rookie.

This kid is going to be a key franchise player
