--SS Jason Bartlett rejoined the Rays after missing Thursday's game when his wife experienced complications with her pregnancy. Kelly Bartlett, who isn't due to deliver their first child until July 6, started experiencing contractions on Thursday. But she was resting at home in St. Petersburg on Friday, on medication and under a doctor's care as well as her mother's supervision. He went 2-for-4.

--2B Akinori Iwamura had three more hits, giving him a .402 average since May 2 and a .275 mark overall.

--RHP Juan Salas has to be reinstated on Saturday to the 40-man roster, which has three openings. Salas has been on the restricted list after being delayed two months in the Dominican Republic because of visa issues; he has pitched twice for Triple-A Durham (0-1, 11.25).

--OF Nathan Haynes, who cleared waivers after being designated for assignment May 9, accepted an assignment to Triple-A Durham.

--Top 2007 draft pick LHP David Price is scheduled to make what should be his last extended spring training start on Saturday, facing a Yankees squad expected to include Alex Rodriguez. If all goes well, Price will make his official pro debut Thursday for advanced Class A Vero Beach.

BY THE NUMBERS
5 -- Games over .500, at 21-16, on the morning of May 12. It was a first in the franchise's 11-season history.

Did anyone watch the Rays-Angels game where Upton was called out?  That was rediculous...  I understand why Madden argued till he got thrown out as it was one of the worst calls I have ever seen in 24 years..  What do you guys think should happon to the umpire
