Nocioni plays through injury in China: Bulls F Andres Nocioni averaged 12.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists in eight games for Argentina at the Beijing Olympics. He suffered a knee injury in a quarterfinal win over Greece, but was able to play through it in the semifinal and bronze medal games.

Fantasy Analysis

The problem was in Nocioni's right knee and was diagnosed as tendinitis. We will definitely keep an eye on this situation as it progresses, but if was able to play through the injury in Beijing, it shouldn't be something that will keep him out of action when the regular season begins in late October. There is some talk that the Bulls are actively looking to trade Nocioni, so a good Olympics could raise his stock a bit. That would be great news for his Fantasy value as he currently finds himself in a front court cluster. The Bulls have a new head coach in 2008-09, and Nocioni's Fantasy value will depend on how the new coaching staff intends to use him.
