Magic must rediscover its offense against Pistons

ORLANDO, Fla. - For all their relative playoff inexperience, this much can be said about the Orlando Magic:

They have been here before, unfortunately.

For the second consecutive season, the Magic are staring up at a 2-0 series deficit against the Detroit Pistons, their Eastern Conference nemesis.

The Magic and their fans know what the Pistons did last postseason when the series moved to Amway Arena.

Home, sweep, home.

Preventing the possibility of a similar shutout starts Wednesday night in the first of two games in Orlando.

It's all pretty simple: Falling behind the Pistons 3-0 lends an expiration date to the Magic's season.

Talk about long shots. . . .

Orlando made something of a breakthrough in a 100-93 loss in Game 2: The Magic got their 3-point shooting on track.

The 3-ball basically has been the lifeblood of a season in which the Magic set a club record for 3-pointers made (801).

They live by the 3, lose by the 3.

After misfiring on a season-low 2-of-15 shooting from downtown in the opener against Detroit, the Magic made 11-of-26 on Monday night, including a third-quarter surge that featured seven consecutive 3s.

Now that is the Magic we've come to know.
