The Rockets could be without starting point guard Rafer Alston (hamstring) for the first round. That will mean more minutes for Bobby Jackson, but not having a solid point guard rotation is tough against Utah's Deron Williams.
04/08/200888
Tracy McGrady is hurting. So is Shane Battier. But with a chance to improve Houston's playoff positioning, they want to play through the pain.
04/01/200888
The next five games look winnable for the road-warrior Rockets, giving them a chance to keep the heat on New Orleans and San Antonio.
03/25/200883
Seven of their final 11 games are on the road.

Phil Jackson describes Houston's streak as only Phil Jackson can: "It's really a continuity of energy. They're doing a really good job of that."
03/11/200868
Not only is Yao out, but key reserve Carl Landry missed the past two games. And the team still refuses to lose.
03/04/2008810
We have to restore Houston to the ranking it held before Yao Ming's injury. Whereas the Suns and Mavs are still discombobulated, the Rockets are in sync. The issue is how long they can keep this up.
02/26/2008108
In case you forgot, Tracy McGrady is an elite player in this league. The beginning of Houston's current 16-1 tear coincided with T-Mac's return from an 11-game absence. But without Yao, they don't rise in these rankings.
02/19/200888
If Houston fails to capitalize on its talent this season, point guard Rafer Alston again figures to be the scapegoat due to his glaring inconsistency. Still, Alston has remained the best option the Rockets have had in spite of them bringing in one body after another to challenge him.
02/12/2008811
Rick Adelman was right when he said his team's revival is a result of them ceasing with the excuses. That's why the Rockets couldn't win without T-Mac when he originally went down, but they ultimately realized this year's team is capable of picking up the slack. They stopped being comfortable with having reasons to fail and decided to win instead.
