Celtics report: Notes, quotes
--James Posey is proud of the fact he's from Cleveland. He grew up not far from the Cavaliers' arena, and he wasn't afraid to wear an Indians cap in Boston last fall when the Indians were playing the Red Sox in the playoffs. But after being called for a flagrant foul on LeBron James in Game 3, Cleveland isn't giving him much love in return. He gets booed there whenever he touches the ball. "Oh well," Posey said. "It's a foul. It's hometown love. It's LeBron James." Asked if it should have been called a flagrant foul, Posey said, "No, not at all. I saw him drive and I reached to grab him. But what I did was the only way I could try to wrap him up." --There is still a lot of talk about Celtics assistant coach Tom Thibodeau being a candidate for head coaching positions. But although coach Doc Rivers has said he'll allow Thibodeau to interview for jobs while the Celts are still alive in the playoffs, no one has contacted the team to ask for permission. With jobs in New York, Dallas and Charlotte already filled, the demand isn't as great as initially expected. QUOTE TO NOTE Copyright (C) 2008 The Sports Xchange. All Rights Reserved.
